In this fast-developing world saving time doing daily tasks is a problem faced by many for which tech-industries are focusing on developing such robots which could help them do their daily home tasks and also development of such machines to do industrial tasks such as object sorting which takes time and effort and to do such tasks machines are proving to be more fast and efficient. 

Our system provides picking and sorting the object in an efficient manner. This system will use conveyor belt which will help in transporting the object to the robotic arm which will further pick and sort them with the help of camera on the basis of image recognition techniques. This project will help in reducing the hiring of labor in many industrial fields, like packaging industries can also use it, it could be very useful for companies providing courier services, it can also help the warehouses to sort their cartons contain clothing material or what server stuff etc. This system has some salient features like conveyor belt which was mostly not used in the past; this feature will further help in reducing the labor usage as the objects can travel towards the robotic arm once they are placed on this rolling belt. Moreover, the rotation feature of the arm shows its uniqueness as previously, the arms weren’t capable of rotations and weren’t able to move to different angles, whereas, no the servo motors will help in rotating clock and anti-clockwise rotations.

Project Objectives

The system’s main objectives are as follow:

  1. An object sorting machine that could detect any object its trained for and than sort it on the bases of its importance and its type.
  2. To create such a integrated emmbeded system which could could provide Effecient object Sorting
  3. To provide User easy of use by installing Touch input and Voice Commands.
  4. To provide Pick and place operation using clipper and electromagnet based robotic arm powered by servo motors
  5. To create such a system which could serve industries in object sorting tasks.
  6. To create such an cost effective system by deploying the Image classifer on Cloud server so that multiple sorting machines could use a single classifier to save additional cost of compute power.
  7. To provide user with count of sorted object and the detected object and more information regarding object.
  8. Build in speech capapbilities to talk to user.
  9. To provide 99.99 percent accuracy for object detetction.
  10. To create such a system that would help robotic industries and IOT industries by displaying Smart Visual servoing.
Project Implementation Method

For our project we have used serveral technologies and techinques for implementation.

SOFTWARE:

Our Application is developed in Electron Js environment. Java script is used for frontend and backend is written in Python. Image classifer is flash app which is deployed onto a azure cloud resource to provide global functionality.A modern looking gui is developed for our application with python backend for image processing, servo controll and rest of the hardware components control.

HARDWARE:

  1. Conyer Belt is made for object transportation.
  2. Camera sensor is used to take an image of the object.
  3. Raspberry pi is acting as the main controller which contains all the code for onsite project, Raspberry pi is the main controller of the project
  4. Electromagnetic and clipper based  robotic arms for pick and place operations.
  5.  Speaker and mic attached for voice features.
  6. LCD touch screen for complete Emmbedded system look and feel.
