Non Invasive Peptometer
Project Area of Specialization Wearables and ImplantableProject SummaryPeptic ulcer infection alludes to agonizing ulcers or bruises in the coating of stomach and duodenum. It effects the morbidity and mortality since the last decades of the 20th century. Around 10% of people will have peptic ulcer disease (PUD) at some point in their life. No single reason has been found for ulcer then again it is currently clear that a ulcer is the final after effect of an awkwardness between digestive liquid in the stomach and duodenum. Most ulcers are brought on by disease with a kind of microscopic organisms called Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori). The most common symptom of peptic ulcers (both duodenal and gastric) is a gnawing or burning pain in the abdomen. Ulcers can also cause belching and bloating. The increase in level of stomach acid can cause shortness of breath. This project aims to analyze the presence of H.pylori bacterium, bloating in abdomen and monitoring of respiration rate, heart rate, ECG and temperature. Pressure and friction on blood vessels could be analyzed using pepto-meter.
Project Objectives- The design device will detect peptic ulcer in the presence of H. pylori bacterium.
- The device will analyze pressure and friction on blood vessels.
- The device will analyze bloating in abdomen.
- The device will assist in analyzing respiration rate, heart rate, ECG and temperature.
The device will give complete information wirelessly.
Project Implementation MethodIn this project, the first step would be literature review of complex anatomy and physiology of stomach and duodenum. It includes studying the effect of ulcer on structure and functioning of stomach and duodenum. After initial analysis, the focus will be on hardware design and interfacing of sensors through Raspberry Pi. A wireless communication link will be established to analyze all parameters using software. The proposed device will be tested by diagnosing all aspects of ulcer.
Benefits of the ProjectIn the present era there is no such device that could detect the presence of peptic ulcer using non-invasive technique. By proposing this device we can predict the presence of H-pylori bacteria and other symptoms which indicate the presence of peptic ulcer.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThe final deliverable will consist of a device that could analyze the presence of peptic ulcer using non-invasive technique.
