Project Summary

The multi-vendor marketplace provides a wide range of services, including broad access, excellent site interactivity, income generating, and much more. The goal of this project is to provide convenience to buyers and sellers. Where sellers can sell their products and buyers buy those products according to their needs. In simple terms, it is a big shop that contains various small shops that are run by individual sellers. Buyers are provided with multiple choices for a single product so they can buy the best products. This project provides solutions to improve and transfer in a simple and effective way in the digital age as well as help reduce personal stress and time. It will be easy to use and have user friendly interface.

Project Objectives

This project intends to build a platform for third-party vendors to sell in one place. It's a large store with several tiny stores maintained by individual vendors. Buyers are given numerous options for a single product, allowing them to select the best option.

• It will provide customers with access to a wider variety of products and services, increasing the chances of getting sales.

• It enables to test new products and brands more easily.
• It is a diversified monetization model. For example, you can choose to charge third-party sellers a commission or for having a premium listing on your marketplace.
• To Increase the sales of a vendor exponentially.
• Because of the reduced inventory investment necessary, it is easier to grow than a single eCommerce business.
• It can give better consumer data, allowing for greater segmentation and interaction.

Project Implementation Method

We have created our project prototype or MVP. and tested some of our feaures and they are working well. Now we are working on the theme design and  and we are also working to include more featues like graphs, loyalty awards, flash sales, Promoted and featured products.

Our project has two main components.

• Front-end development

In the front-end development part we used Javascript, React CSS, HTML. Front-end development part is basically how the website design will be how it will look mainly the GUI part is done so far. We used REACT for making the structure or sections in the website such as Home, Shop, Shopping-cart, etc. We used CSS and bootstrap for the design work especially we created custom code using CSS and Bootstrap for enabling users to load CSS. 

• Back-end development

In the back-end development part we used Node js, Express js  for creating the links which connects each section of the website the Backend work is still undergoing and we used MongoDB for database.

Due to the many benefits offered by the multi-vendor marketplace, many vendors are moving from eCommerce websites to multi-vendor marketplace platforms.

Huge variety of products

The products sold on a multi-vendor marketplace come from multiple vendors from all across the globe, which easily targets more audiences and boosts sales. If popular multi-vendor marketplace platforms imported products from just a single vendor, they wouldn’t be able to engage as many sales as they do.

Cost-effective

As every vendor will be managing their store independently, the marketplace administrator doesn’t need to hire resources to manage the stores. Therefore, it is a super convenient and cost-effective option for small businesses. 

Scalable profit model based on each order value

Since many vendors are involved in a multi-vendor marketplace, a marketplace administrator can earn money by taking a commission fee on each successful transaction between the customers and the vendors.
