In stealth technology, a key objective is to reduce the radar cross-section (RCS) of metallic objects such as missiles and aircraft. In the past, many metasurfaces have been designed on it. But the most common drawbacks are narrow bandwidth, thick in size, increased weight, and costly which limited their application. Thus, the design of a wide Band RCS reduction with high efficiency is still a challenging task.

  2. Design and analysis of metasurfaces for RCS reduction.
  3. Fabrication of the designs mentioned in the activity at S.NO. 1 and 2.
  4. Testing of the designs mentioned in the activity at S.NO. 1 and 2.
  5. Thesis and research papers write-up.
Project Implementation Method

Methodology for Implementation of Project

To design the multifunctional wideband Polarization Converting metasurfaces for microwave application, computer simulation technology (CST) microwave studio (2020) software will be used and substrate material for proposed metasurfaces will be F4BM with ?r=2.2. For unit cell and the ground will be used good conductor material. The fabrication will be done in China after the simulation.

Benefits of the Project

Utilization of Project Results: The following are the major features of the metasurface that make it suitable for real-world applications, high efficiency, ultrawide bandwidth, the simple structure having a minimal thickness, lightweight, and relaxed fabrication. Because of this feature, the PCM has the potential can be used in different applications where polarization conversion devices are needed.

The proposed metasurface will be utilized in different areas, some of them are given below;

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The proposed MS is validated experimentally. Experimental results are found in good concurrence with simulations.
