Project Summary

A Computer Vision based Android application which will help in finding lost people. regardless of their age or mental condition. The application has two main modules one is for the guardian who lost someone and the other one is for the people who find someone. The guardian can generate a report and provide some images of the missing person, the required features will be extracted from the images in cloud and then stored then if a finder uploads the images of the same person the features from both the guardian images and the finder images will be matched and both will be alerted in positive case else the images will be added to the gallery which can be accessed by anyone.

Project Objectives

The main objective is finding lost people. It is regardless of their age, gender or mental condition.

Project Implementation Method

The project is being implemented in multiple phases

• The front end of the android application will be developed (Already completed).
• Then the application will be connected with cloud based database (Already completed).
• After that the application will be connected with cloud computing so that the heavy computing take place there.
• The last and main step of implementation is face detection and face recognition which will take place in cloud computing.
• Testing phase.

Benefits of the Project

There is no proper channel for finding lost people in Pakistan due to unefficient resources. Some manual methods are used in this era of advanced technology.

This application will be a proper channel for finding lost people in less time and using minimum resources.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The technical details are given as follow 

• It is a software based project no hardware is required.
• The final deliverable will be an android application.
• This application can be used in the android phones having android version greater than or equal to 5.1 (Lollypop).
• The application will be light and fast because all of the heavy processing take place on the cloud.
