MemoryBank is another GPS tracking system available for people with Alzheimer’s or dementia. The product promises to “increase safety for the elderly, promote independent living and ultimately lead to a healthier lifestyle.”

The idea of MemoryBank is basically to be beneficial for people with Alzheimer’s or dementia, Asperger’s, Down syndrome and others with developmental disabilities. The Memory Bank has a real-time map that informs you any time your loved one has deviated from a pre-established or typical route. This means that you can step back and allows you to navigate their location while still being available if things do not go as expected. It is essential to allow people with developmental disabilities as much independence and basic freedom as they are capable of handling within the range of their capabilities. Memory Bank is more than just a GPS tracker; it helps facilitate meeting independence goals without compromising safety.

Memory Bank software will fulfil the requirements by taking route details, app allows caregivers to set “radius” and will send an alert if a loved one enters or leaves a predetermined area. The software promises to “increase safety for the elderly, promote independent living and ultimately lead to a healthier lifestyle.”

Project Objectives

Following are lifesaving elements of Memories Bank, which are beneficial for the caregivers.

First Responder Alert: Click to share Alzheimer’s patient or child’s real-time location with search & rescue team.

Alarm: Activate an alarm on the device, to locate them when nearby in a crowd.

Pill Remainder: It will you remember to take your medications and pills. You can set up multiple alarms.

1-WayVoice (Listen-In):  Hear if your loved one is in danger and immediately know if they need your help.

SOS Call: Makes a direct call from the device to a predefined number.

Timeline View: See your loved one’s routes and locations during the whole day.

2-WayVoice: Assistive design that automatically answers. Designed for special needs to allow you to talk to your loved one without them having to do anything.

Appointment Remainder: Caregivers or family can set gentle reminders for upcoming appointments or events.

Gep-Fencing Safe Zone: Name and Customize Boundaries of an Unlimited Number of Auto Detected Safe Places.

Memory Game: It will contain the gifs of their family members so it will help in restoring their memory.

Heart Beat & Pulse Rate Monitoring: Patients heartbeat and pulse rate will be monitored.

Nearby Hospitals: See details about all the nearby hospitals.

Project Implementation Method
  • We will be using HTML, CSS and JavaScript for an interactive website. Firebase for database, JavaScript for an interactive website. Information about the web application and watch application will be available on the website.
  • Java will be used for structuring the frontend of web application and fire base will be used for database for storing the data .Android studio will be used to run and build the web application. Admin will be monitoring the data of web application.

Data that will be stored in the web application includes :

  • Safe zone radius
  • Contacts of the first responders group
  • Details of the pill
  • Details about upcoming events or appointments
  • Pulse rate, heartbeat of the patient will be stored.
  • Details about the nearby hospitals will be stored.
  • Contacts will be saved in database so in case of emergency message alerts will be send.
  • Gifs of the family members will be stored that will be used in memory game.
  • Java will be used for coding of watch application and firebase will be used for database.

  • Appointment details will be stored through web application.
  • Upcoming appointment details will be stored through web application.
  • Pictures of the care givers will be stored.
  • Contacts of the first responders group will be stored.
