In this busy world everyone is more worried about security issue. They are worried about the risk
that unknown person can easily access to the important information and important material.to
neglect these worries from life many different strategies presented by people such as pin
verification, pattern, password, cards etc. but the disadvantage of these strategies is that if we
create password but passwords can be hacked, if we use cards or keys but they can be stolen. The
worries or problems still remain same. .So, at this time where everyone needs complete secure
and easy system which should resolve all security issues, we need a solution that is more secure
reliable, easily to understand for user is biometric based solution.
Biometric system is best and perfect solution for these security issues. Biometrics includes
fingerprints, face and voice detection. From all these biometrics fingerprint proved to be perfect
secure and reliable technique. Because every person has its own and unique fingerprint pattern
and no one can cheated it.Now days this system is used many organizations.
By using fingerprint recognition system, we not need to remember password or keeping care of
keys or cards. We can easily and quickly access our information. We can easily identity thefts.
Now a days this system is used for online transactions. Biometric system proved to be more
secure that why it’s used all over in the world.
In Locker Security by Using Biometric Based Authentication Method, locker is assigned to the
user on the basis of fingerprint and these fingerprint will store in database. In search mode when
user wants to access the locker, he has to simply place his finger in fingerprint sensor, if its
fingerprint matches with sored fingerprint the locker automatically unlocked and if its fingerprint
not matched with stored fingerprint then system will allow user to try three attempts. After user
three attempts a message is forward to owner of locker that account has been blocked please
contact to administrator.

Project Objectives

In this technology era where technology is used in each and every thing. There is need of
Security system in which technology is used and which provide highly security. In this project
Our goal is to provide user a highly secure system in cost effective way. Biometric based
Authentication system is pure technology based system which increase the level of security in
Lockers. System prevent the locker from unauthorized access and keep the user documents and
Valuable things safe.

Project Implementation Method

In Locker Security by Using Biometric Based Authentication Method, locker is assigned to the

Benefits of the Project

Fingerprint based security system is the most secured system as compared to other systems.
Reason is that RFID card or Keys of lock can be stolen, password may be leaked. However
thumbnail of every human being is unique, so lock will not open unless the same person is
present to give the same fingerprint. No need to carry the keys to open the lock. Or even there is
no need to remember the password or any Pin number. One of the main advantages is that this
system remembers the stored password even if the power supply is turned off. Scientific research
and studies have proved that fingerprints do not change as you grow up. Using Fingerprint saves
time to gain access as compared to other methods like RFID card, Password or Key.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Arduino Mega 2560 R3
It is an open source electronic plateform.It is based on both hardware and software.Arduino
board get inputs and return it’s into output.Arduino board is used for many purposes like turning
led on and off, light sensor etc. .For preformatting all functionality we just tell Arduino board
about what we want to perform by using Arduino Programming language or (IDE).Arduino can
easily run on windows, MAC, Linux. Arduino can be used easily by beginners. At low cost we
can build scientific, chemistry and physics based principle and we can build robotics with simple
programming. Now a days Arduino is brain of thousands of projects. Because it’s an easy tool
for prototyping or without having much knowledge about electronic and programming we can
easily use it its coding is too simple.

Fingerprint sensor:
We have used R305 Finger Print Sensor. It has an Optical biometric fingerprint reader. It also
has inbuilt flash memory. It performs the function of image processing and gives out data on its
output pin.

Arduino cable
Use it to connect arduino Uno, Mega 2560 with your system.

5V electric locks:
 Used for locking, drawer, sell-machine, storage shelf, file cabinet and etc. The lock works as the
circuits disconnects, and it will unlock as the instant power-on.

IRF 520 MOSFET DRIVER MODULE :

This little module (HCMODU0083) is a breakout board for the IFR520 MOSFET transistor. The
module is designed to switch heavy DC loads from a single digital pin of your microcontroller.
Its main purpose is to provide a low cost way to drive a DC motor for robotics applications, but
the module can be used to control most high current DC loads.

Wring box:
When an electronic product is sold with a power supply, this supply will be fixed to one voltage
and one connector.

Wooden Lockers:
 A locker is a small, usually narrow storage compartment. They are commonly found in
dedicated cabinets, very often in large numbers, in various public places such as lockers, rooms,
school, transport hub and the like. They vary in size, purpose, construction, and security.

SIM900A 1800/1900 MHz Wireless Extension Module GPRS GSM Board with Antenna:
GSM module is a circuit that will be used to establish communication between mobile devices or
GSM module’s module is used for sending and receiving SMS.
