Project Summary

Our final year project is to create an Android application with features that entertain clients, lawyers, and law firms. The application enables clients to conveniently hire and engage with lawyers from the comfort of their own homes. This application will enable clients to employ lawyers in their preferred cities, depending on their preferences. In Pakistan, there is a massive opportunity in the market to use such applications, and people have reported many issues regarding hiring lawyers, such as people seeking urgent hiring and not knowing any qualified lawyers to hire. Still, they can learn about different lawyers and hire accordingly by using this application. Moreover, case situations vary, and lawyers have different expertise, making it difficult for consumers to choose the best lawyer for the case.

Additionally, suppose legal firms want to employ lawyers rapidly. In that case, they may do so by publishing job advertisements on this application, where any lawyer can view the advertisement(posts) and make decisions based on it. The last and most convenient feature that we have added to our application is a legal dictionary which constitutes the range of legal terms and phrases that will enable users to know the meaning of these terms. More importantly, if the user finds any word or term missing, one can upload the new term in that dictionary.

Project Objectives

Our Android app will provide the functionalities: 

1. Clients may simply find lawyers who meet their needs, hire them, and can also chat with them, rate them, and search up legal terms to help them understand them better.

2. Lawyers will benefit from the application as well since they will be able to use it to seek cases and employment in law firms, as well as follow up on legal words they haven't heard before to gain a better understanding of everything. Having all of these elements in one location will be handy and beneficial to them.

3. Furthermore, this application will be very beneficial for legal firms that wish to get in touch with lawyers for their firms and recruit them conveniently without having to search for lawyers everywhere.

Project Implementation Method

For the implementation of the project, we have used Android Studio IDE for the development of the application, and for backend operations, we have integrated a product from Google Cloud known as Firebase. Firebase is quick and easy to integrate for any application and it efficiently enhances the security mechanisms of the application. Firebase also performs the database operations for applications with real-time integration. User authentication is also offered by firebase which is considered the most crucial aspect of firebase, and much more features.                            

Benefits of the Project

The project aims to create an application that will aid our country's judicial system and give citizens with legal convenience. It is a low-cost application that anybody can use and benefit from.
Clients, lawyers, and law firms would not have to look for one another everywhere. They will be able to complete tasks while sitting at home, such as the client's job to find and hire a lawyer for their cases, the lawyer's job to obtain the cases and apply for a job for a law firm, and law firms looking for a lawyer will easily find and hire a lawyer. This application will also enhance the number of career opportunities for lawyers, hence lowering poverty and benefiting lawyers, especially young lawyers. Clients will also be able to obtain justice and a suitable lawyer.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The final product that we will present will be an android application integrated with the firebase database. The application will operate like other user-friendly applications that will need internet connectivity all the way. Secondly, before using the application user must have to specify whether it's a lawyer, client, or any legal firm and thereafter have to register accordingly to utilize the features of the application. After registration same procedure like do login and utilizing features. Our application will also work as a legal dictionary where users can find a bunch of legal words and terms and also can add if users find any missing terms related to law.
