We are proposing an EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system for kidney center. The proposed EMR system will able to assist doctors, patients, pharmacist, lab assistant, and management. The proposed EMR system is better in usability for e-prescribing, assist the doctor to maintain appointments or to see reports, help pharmacist to maintain stocks and sales, guide lab assistant to make reports. Another extra and unique feature is that of prescription shortcuts for doctor to prescribe easily just by putting the short keys of the medicines and the system will recognize it and will convert it into original medicine name so as to make it easy for the readers to understand The system is divided into 6 modules including, management, doctor, patient, lab, pharmacy module and a general module each module is divided into sub-modules which are briefly described in the scope section. For the implementation Angular 4, ASP.Net and SQL database is used for a front end, back end and data storage respectively. The SCRUM model will be used for the development of this propose EMR System which is iterative in nature. The timespan for the project is approximately 10 months. To make it a better one as compared to previously working systems, we have introduced all in one approach in which, patients, doctors, pharmacists and lab staff, all can get their job done at a single place and they have no more need to use separate systems for each task. The interface is designed by keeping in mind the users coming from the adverse background so as to make it easy and adaptable by every kind of person. In the architecture of the system we are using, N-TIRE architecture along with which we are following a client-server approach.
The prime purpose of EMR systems is expected to be a better, secure and efficient data keeping of patient healthcare records. From a managerial perspective, an EMR system can analyze the patient data to give statistics that could further be used for better treatment. They are also expected for a great easy and reliable access to data no matter when and how it is needed. A properly working EMR system is capable of storing and giving complete access about the patient’s diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, radiology pictures, allergies, and another important related record digitally, securing it and sharing it among different health organization in a protected way. By reducing that bulky paperwork, it allows the providers to give more time to their patients, understanding their exact problem and finding a perfect, secure and better treatment for them .
The EMR systems like GoDoctor are here but now the world has moved towards a new edge of advancement in healthcare. The new advancement is workflow based EMR systems.
