Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryHere we are making the smart underground cable fault protection system which will be IoT based it will alert when the fault occur in underground cable. We are making prototype module which installed in base station . In this project we require raspberry pi boards, GSM plus GPS Shields for raspberry pi and power supplies connections and some other electronic models for raspberry pi for assembling this project.
Project ObjectivesThe aim of this project is to determine the distance of underground cable fault from base station in kilometers and also find the location of that faulty place . And also the safety of desire system .
Project Implementation MethodWe will be making the prototype for underground cable fault on initial basis .The system will be installed in base station. The input and output ports of Microprocessor, LCD display, RTC and Wi-Fi module of the system are configured and initialized. When fault occurs (switch is pressed), the fault distance, time and phase are displayed corresponding to that fault. The above fault information will be displayed in the webpage using Wi-Fi module.
Benefits of the ProjectIt saves precious time in tracing the faulty part and usless rodents . By this you can get exact location and fix it quickly. This will also increase the safety parameters you get notified when fault occur. Either someone face it accidently, which may harm anyone life.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableWe will be using rapberry pi development board in in this prototype with GSM & GPS shields and some wiring connections of board with LCD for raspberry pi to display the message. Relay is use for current sensing and other accessories like power supplies connections and frames etc.
The whole circuit will be running on 12v DC and will be drawing current less then 1 amps
