Project Area of Specialization Software EngineeringProject SummaryWe are introducing a smart and technology based ”Smart Mirror” for usage in homes,hotels,offices etc, based on Internet of things .The tools used in this system would be:
1. There would be Raspberry Pi used as a bridge between mirror and casted device.
2. It includes a speaker, producing a pleasant smooth voice.
3. It includes a microphone for recording voice and for attending calls on Smart Mirror.
4. It includes a LCD used as a monitor.The interface design of this proposed system would be customized, depending upon therequirements and interest area of the customer such as which mirror size customer want.
Project ObjectivesThe aim is to resolve the problems which People face during there daily routine. How-ever,the main purpose of this mirror is to provide the user a facility to use phone whiledressing up,can make calls,read newspaper,solving any urgent queries and social mediasurfing.In such manner,this Mirror will provide more comfort and ease the people who arefacing routine problems.
Project Implementation MethodThese are the following steps of working shows the working model.
1. Raspberry pi will be connected with LCD screen(monitor).
2. LCD screen(monitor) will have touch interface so that user can control the mirror.
3. Mirror will be used as a screen from where user can interact with it.
4. Android application will be installed in mobile phone and raspberry pi which willbe used to cast mobile on LCD.
5. The mobile and raspberry pi must have same broadband connection.
6. A speaker will be connected with raspberry pi as sound system.
Benefits of the ProjectIn this fastest era, everyone has a really tough daily routine and its hard to managetime.So there are many problems which we face in daily life such as
1. Most of Students and office workers are in hurry every morning so they don’t havetime to listen news or to perform there important tasks on Mobile phone.
2. Females while getting ready most of them follow some beautician’s tips so they haveto watch videos first and than pause it and implement that tip.
3. Most house wife’s have tough daily routine so they can’t manage time to watchthere favourite daily soaps or using social media platforms.
Our project will solve these following problems discussed above.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableTools & Techniques:-
Smart Mirror would take dierent kinds of tools and techniques to achieve the aimed goal.
Software requirement:-
1. Android app would be required as a bridge between mobile and mirror.
Hardware requirement:-
1. Mirror is used to reflects the clear image and mobile phone interface.
2. LCD would be used as a monitor.
3. Raspberry would be used as a bridge between mobile and mirror.
4. Speaker would be used to transmit message(based on gesture) to attendant(nurse,family member).
5. Microphone would be used for recording voice and for attending calls on SmartMirror.
