Home Automation or smart homes means managing or controlling all home appliances by the use of technology. This process is needed for the sake of safety, control, convenience, savings and securities homes and home appliances. By the use of automation technology, we can control, monitor and calculate power consumption. The scope of home automation technology is very large and can be extended to offices and factories. Complete use of this technology will make our lives much easier than before.

Project Objectives

By doing this we achieve: • Controlling home appliances (fan, lights, led,. etc) • Monitoring all load’s power consumption • Calculating total power consumption • Providing time varying electricity price and suggestion regarding the price • Environmental Parameters (Temperature, humidity, etc.) • Home Security Management • Automatic Gate • Face detection • Car detection • Intruder’s detection

Project Implementation Method

We are maintaining a network of sensors connected to an Arduino board that collects sensor data and sends it to the Mobile App as well as a locally hosted website via API connections via the esp8266 Wi-Fi module. With the help of this system, the homeowner will be able to control home appliances (fans, lights, and LEDs etc.) via an app on his or her phone. The homeowner will monitor the power consumption of all loads and calculate the total power consumption. This system will provide time-varying electricity prices and recommendations on how to save money on electricity as well as manage home security (automatic gate, face detection, car detection, and intruder detection).

Benefits of the Project

Savings- With all the connected electrical equipment, which include learning about coolers, intelligent sprinklers, wireless-enabled lighting, and tracking electricity retailers, as well as water heating and cooling modules, energy and water use will be reduced.
