Iot Based Smart Agriculture System
This project, therefore, proposes a system that is useful in monitoring the field operations which provides the flexibility this project aims at making agriculture smart using automation and IoT technologies. The highlighting features of this project include the Scaling of Temperature sensor, Moisture sensor, and water level sensor. It configures the level of water, Temperature, and humidity the metering equipment read the values and sends SMS alerts on the phone about the levels and values. The whole process is monitoring and configure on the Andriod application. Sensors sense and check the level of water on the scale if it goes down, it automatically starts the water pump. If the temperature goes above the level, the fan starts. This all is displayed on the LCD display module. Secondly, it includes smart irrigation with smart control based on real-time field data. Controlling of all these operations will be through the Andriod application. It is very essential to make an effective intervention in agriculture and the solution is IoT in integration with the wireless sensor networks. Internet of things (IoT) is a method of connecting everything to the internet. This system is helpful to check the overall factors which help the crops to grow faster
In the field section, various sensors are deployed in the field like temperature sensors, ultrasonic sensors, and humidity sensors. The data collected from these sensors are
connected to the Arduino UNO. In the control section, the received data is verified with the threshold values. If the moisture level is low then Arduino switches on a water pump
to provide water to the plant. The water pump gets automatically off when the system finds enough moisture in the soil and a message is sent to the user on the Andriod application via the IoT module, updating the status of the water pump. Parameters like temperature scaling and humidity level are measured by using sensors. The ultrasonic sensor is used to monitor the growth of the plants, one can observe the plants at any time. Monitoring the plant growth by using an ultrasonic sensor and sending the status to the Andriod application.
Agriculture is considered as the basis of life for the human species as it is the main source of food grains and other raw materials. It plays a vital role in the growth of a country’s economy. It also provides large ample employment opportunities to the people. Growth in the agricultural sector is necessary for the development of the economic condition of the country. Unfortunately, many farmers still use the traditional methods of farming which results in low yielding of crops and fruits. But wherever automation had been implemented and human beings had been replaced by automatic machinery, the yield has been improved. Hence there is a need to implement modern science and
technology in the agriculture sector for increasing the yield. Most of the papers signify the use of a wireless sensor network that collects the data from different types of sensors and then sends it to the main server using a wireless protocol. The collected data provides information about different environmental factors which in turn helps to monitor the system. Monitoring environmental factors are not enough and a complete solution to improve the yield of the crops.
