Every company uses vehicles to deliver their product to the buyer. As the business grows they are facing a lot of problems. The biggest problem is that the buyer does not get the product on time. The company sends its vehicles to deliver the product but they do not know when the vehicle reached the buyer and when it left for return and how much fuel is used. Because the companies either do not have fleet management systems and even if they have, it is of no use because they cannot track their vehicles and then the employees take advantage of this and misuse the vehicles, the companies have to bear a lot of losses. And often employees damage cars and then pretend to have an accident or have their products stolen by disappearing the products and the company can't figure out the truth.
The purpose of this project is to track and monitor the vehicles through plug and play devices and all the events will be logged and generated for the admin in a dashboard. This way the company will know which vehicle is on which route, when it reached the buyer and when it returned. And also this device will measure the distance covered by the vehicle and calculate how much fuel is used. If any incident occurs, it will automatically be detected by this device and will send an alert notification to the nearby rescue authorities and the company dashboard. And because of the real-time tracking, the rescue authorities will be able to reach in time and the company's authorities will be able to take immediate action against those who exploit the company’s fleet.
Secondly, This device will be used by an ordinary person for his car. He will be able to track his vehicle through this device. If someone uses his vehicle in his absence, he will know through this device or if his vehicle is stolen, he will be able to reach the thieves easily. And also detect the accident through this device.
As per data given by the World Health Organization 1.35 million people die every year due to road accidents. This number is sufficient enough to show the global crisis of road safety & creates a need to improve the road safety facilities & rescue operation system. In most cases when a road accident occurs, the rescue teams are not informed in time or they have trouble locating the accident site. If an accident occurs, it will automatically be detected by this device and will send a location and alert notification to the nearby rescue authorities. And because of the real-time tracking, the rescue authorities will be able to reach in time.
Project Objectives? To monitor and track fleet in real-time using plug and play devices.
? To send an immediate signal to a nearby rescue in case an accident occurs.
? To reduce the fleet incident.
? To reduce the fatality rate of road accidents.
Project Implementation MethodAn IoT Based Fleet Monitoring, Tracking and Incident Reporting System shall be developed by the team, this system will hold the following features:
? A sensor, GPS, and GSM modules, MPU6050, Nodemcu.
? GPS will track the location coordinates
? Sensors will detect the incident
? GSM/GPRS will send an instant alert notification to the nearby rescue authorities
? Design a Dashboard to monitor all these circumstances.
The device will send all data to the AWS cloud, the data will be monitored and all the events will be logged and generated for the admin through a React-based web application. This way the company will know which vehicle is on which route, when it reached the buyer and when it returned. And also this device will measure the distance covered by the vehicle and calculate how much fuel is used.
