Both parents are required to work due to the high cost of living. However, they still need to look after their babies, thereby increasing workload and stress, especially of the mother. Working parents cannot always care for their babies. They either send their babies to their parents or hire a baby caregiver while they are working. Some parents worry about the safety of their babies in the care of others. Thus, they go home to on their babies during their free time, such as or break. A baby monitoring system that can monitor the babies’ condition real time is proposed to solve these problems. A baby monitoring system consisting of a video camera and microphone without limitations of coverage. It can send data and immediately notify the parents about urgent situations, thereby shortening the time needed to handle such scenarios. Generally, babies cry because they are hungry, tired, unwell, or need their diaper changed.
Our project will generate warnings when baby starts crying and also it whether baby has wet diaper or he has etc. Our system will be insatlled on baby cradle which will start swing as soon as baby starts crying.
Project Objectives&;Our Aim in this project, is to facilitate the working parents to remotely monitor the activities and problems faced by their infants from any location by designing a Cradle with monitoring features.
Main Objectives of our project includes:
To design a cost efficient and smart cradle.
To monitor baby’s body temperature and pulse rate.
To design a system which would be helpful to save time and money of the parents especially working women.
To monitor the temperature and humidity of the surroundings.
A mini fan(controlled Automatically) is there to maintain temperature.
Cradle will swing only when baby will ‘cry’.
Project Implementation MethodRaspberry-Pi will be used as microcontroller which will collect information from the Body Temperature Sensor, Room Temperature Sensor, Humidity Sensor, Mic and Video Camera.
When baby starts crying, a warning is generated and inputs will be taken the temperature and humidity sensors and the data will be sent to parent/guardian so that an action would be taken. Meanwhile, as soon as baby starts crying microcontroller will enable the motor attached to fradle so that the cradle starts swinging. It will also monitors the room temperature if it exceeds limit provided then a fan is switched on automatically or any person can switch it on using IoT.
One important key faeture of our project is video recording by camera which will be streamed in real time installed at cradle so that parent/guardian would take care of their babies remotely.
