IOT based Anti-theft Flooring System using Raspberry Pi
Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryToday security and safety is becoming more and more popular day by day and it is getting improved and used for ease in our life. Now a day’s technology has become an integrated part of people's lives therefore the security of one’s home must also not be left behind. The purpose of this project is to design a system which will control doors by using a camera module operated by raspberry pi. This system mainly consists of a Web camera to detect guests, Raspberry Pi Model 3 which have inbuilt Wi-Fi module and a Mobile device for interfacing with the system. Whenever an individual would stand in front of a door then the camera would detect and send an image on the mobile device. Users can control the door by using a Smartphone. In the mobile device, specifications of appliances are given through which system can be controlled. When an individual gets sensed, a web camera gets the signal then it captures the image of an individual and sends it to the user's mobile device via raspberry pi using the device via raspberry pi using IOT (Internet of Things). This proposed work is to send the specific person inside the house standing in front of the door by authenticating permission to open the door via the app otherwise not. This project requires two Internet connections one at raspberry end and other at user end. Optimized Door Locking and Using IOT is a very secure solution for locking and unlocking the door within Wi-Fi range. This system plays a major role in helping reduce the work by using physically challenged.
Project ObjectivesThe main aim of this project is to make an automated security system for Banks and jewelry shops. The project consists of Raspberry Pi with sensor and camera. The whole system is placed in that place. If system detects someone in Bank/shop it sets the capture the live images and sent it on email.
Project Implementation Method| The proposed methodology aims to design a generally implementable framework for providing a house owner/member with the immediate notification of an ongoing theft (unauthorized access to their premises). The Raspberry Pi Camera should be connected to Raspberry Pi as before connecting the camera module to Raspberry pi make sure that the Pi is switched off. Now connect the camera to the camera port available in the Pi. Connect all the necessary things such as keyboards card, HDMI cable and switch on the Pi. Now enable the camera which is under Raspberry Pi configuration. The IOT device built on Raspberry Pi 3 in this project has a simple and straight forward operation. The device detects motion by the PIR sensor and as it detects motion, it starts capturing images. The images are stored on the MicroSD card and sent on the registered email of the user. All of this is managed by a python script running over the Raspbian Operating System. Before running the python script, it is essential to install operating system on the Pi 3 and install the required libraries i.e. OpenCV on the operating system. While installing the operating system, installing the libraries and the python script, the Raspberry Pi should be connected to a display monitor using HDMI cable. For installing the Raspbian Operating System on MicroSD card, first download the latest image of Raspbian OS from Raspberry Pi website from the following link – Raspbian Operating System Copy the image of the latest Raspbian OS in the MicroSD card. If the MicroSD card used is 32 GB or below, it must be formatted to FAT32 (file system) before copying the image or if the MicroSD card is more than 32 GB, it should be formatted to exFAT before copying the image. Extract the OS Zip and copy it to the MicroSD card. |

Benefits of the ProjectThe research work that will be carried out in this thesis would be mainly focused to design and develop efficient and convenient motion detection surveillance i.e. an AntiTheft device to solve security problems which will help to reduce/stop theft. This system is suitable for small personal area surveillance. I.e. personal office cabin, bank locker room, parking entrance. Whenever the motion is detected through. The main Advantage of the project is Easy to implement, Low cost with High quality.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableIn this project raspberry pi 3B+ (model) will been used as heart of system. This proposed system is an intelligent system and it eliminates the need of continuous by human resource. Thus, any human extra work is ruled out. This system continuously checks the status of place by sensors that Is anyone entering in the shop or not. And sends the alert message to the owner with live images by rotating camera with different angles. In this security system human bodies are detected by PIZO sensor.
