As we continue to automate the world to make our lives easier, the fundamental nature of work is changing. Manpower required in factories have reduced significantly because most of the work is now done by machines. In sample words human arms are being replaced by robotic arms. Consequently robotic arm takes on the burden of manual, repetitive tasks, freeing people to achieve their potential. Also these automated arms produced better results, reduced injury and drives industry further. Most importantly using them has also helped in making processes more efficient and less noisy. Availability of robotic arms for monotonous and dangerous tasks has reserved human hands for critical and safer work, resulting in elevation of their value. In modern industry, innovation by automating processes provides companies with competitive advantages in speed, efficiency, and production value, This project replace their manpower-driven operation of stacking of different pieces of products(such as cube stacking).

The working of Industrial manipulator could be summarized in figure below:

Project Objectives

The main objective in completing this project is to select a robotic arm for stacking of cubes. This project is basic idea/prototype for reducing human effort in industries where heavy weight products are not easy to stacked by human efforts. so our idea for this project is business friendly, time friendly.

Designing and Modeling of the stacking mechanism for small cubes. We need to have a time study between currently undergoing manual operation and newly designed automated operation. The working of this industrial Manipulator, it’s repeatability, lifetime etc. are to be found out. The choice of the end effectors, it’s design and analysis should be carried out and documented. Also some type of prototype hardware will be designed for working of industrial manipulator.

Stacking through robotics arm is not yet easy ,for this reason lot of work is needed to be done in order to make working prototype of our hardware and robotic arm perfectionous .the major hurdles is that we use robotic arm and we would programed through ROS  through microcontroller . 

Project Implementation Method

The implementation of proposed industrial manipulator using ROS would be very challenging task to be implemented so we make versitile and affordable industrial solution ,so that it could be implementable with low installation cost .

so we start the project by first step by installation and overview of ROS .then we plan to use ardiuno as microcontroller as a control unit by programed it by phython programing language.ardunio is very cheap and easily available in all market.

Then we start working on industrial manipulator 6 dof robotic arm which covered a variety of fields, including manufacturing industry, medical treatment, security control and other application. It plays as an assistant, an operator or even a work partner of other robotic arm, it consists of six servo motors, corresponding to the arm, elbow, wrist (2 degrees of freedom), five joints and one rotating base in all. Each joint can move in a certain range, and the base can be rotated about 180 degrees. With 24 channel veyron servo controller, all action can be controlled via PC software, supporting online debug and wireless control. In a word, this is a high cost performance, easy to use robot arm. It is real a good robot demonstration teaching platform and DIY robotic arm.The servo can be connected directly to the arduino IO expansion shield or the Romeo robot microcontroller, and arduino servo library makes it easier to use. 

we implement industrial manipulator through Mic stand and tested individually and then combined into complete project .

Benefits of the Project

It can pick parts from incoming conveyor and stack them on work piece in assembling applications.

It is useful for fast packaging in industries of there manufactured products and also reduce headcount in a tight labor market and also minimize the complexity of machine scheduling around tight labor availability also labour productivity increase (because of the opportunity to use the equipment in three or four shifts in 365 days of the year)  production costs decrease and raising of the competitive capacity conservation of the equipment and production facilities

In industry we also focus on safety and quality – Adding a robot to stack the basic parts as they leave the bander allows employees to focus on other specialty part stacking and quality control. It also decreases the operators’ risk of repetitive motion injuries.This system is complete with safety fencing and sensors.

It  can work simultaneously on the same product line or on different product lines. They can also switch between programming for different products and pallet plans easily, allowing for flexibility as demanded.

The whole disscussion is that it Improve overall stack quality which is our task to be done with complete ensurance of safety. 

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The final deliveriables would consist of hardware and software integrated system.The hardware consist of three parts i.e industrial manipulator,Stack sensor and control unit is arduino.In software integrated system we use the robotic operating system(ROS) using the python language.In software we doing the programming for the stacking of products and stacking sensor.In hardware the sensor use for sense the product.Control unit use for the control the complete the project.The control unit connect to industrial manipulator and connect the power supply(12v,15amp) for start the control unit.The industrial manipulator are use for the stacking the small packages of products.

In final deliverables the all steps are implements.After the implements all steps the industrial manipulator are doing work such as stacking the small pakages of small products.
