Our daily life is unimaginable without electricity.Pakistan is suffering with electricity shortage and facing a shortfall of about 4 thousand mega watts. Solutions have been tried to reduce the shortfall and some are underway as well. One solution is the more and more production of solar power to fulfill the needs.Now people who have got the supply of electricity are looking for cheaper and better resources of electricity. There are several sources of electricity produced around the globe, electricity is produced from water which is hydroelectricity, produced from fossil fuels, wind energy etc. Our point of discussion here will be solar energy. Solar power is the newer trend around now.
Living in Pakistan,we still have those areas where there is scarce or no electricity provided. If we look at the nothern areas or the newly merged districts(previously FATA & agencies) there are some specific area where no electricity is provided and seems as if they are living in stone age. Also there is no easy passage to reach those areas so it becomes even difficult to connect thes areaswith the national grid. Here the best solution to this problem will be the production of solar power to provide these areas with electricity.
Our project will provide a little different view of the solar panel systems. Our project will be based on implementing cloud based system for pay as you go PV systems.
Customers using our services will have remote access to their systems, also as mnentioned already we will be implementing pay as you go payment scheme so the customers will be able to pay their bills using any microfinance service such as Easypaisa, Jazzcash etc..
The purpose of the work is to propose a PV system with greatly improved ef?ciency and a cloud-based ‘smart’ control system.
The cloud system consist of following modules,
a) High-Voltage (HV) High-Power (HP) power converters to generate 220V AC voltage from the DC power extracted from the PV panels
b) Embedded system to control the power converter as well as extract maximum power available from the PV panels
c) Cloud-based system for remote telemetry and control of the PV System
- Implementation of Solar panel system according to the plan.
- The implemented Solar panel system should be user friendly.
- The solar system should be designed in a way that it could be provided in remote areas.
- The implemented solar system should be more efficient than the already available systems.
- The solar panel system should be relatively cheaper than the already available systems.
- There should be a specific payment system for the consumers who intend to use this solar panel system.
- cloud infrastructure will be design on Amazone web services.
Project implementation method:
1) Database development:
The first step is to design the databse for the pv cloud system it will include both conceptual and relational schema once a pure form of database is generate it will be transfer from local computer to AWS relational database system.
2) PV Cloud infrastructure module Development:
The next step will be to develop module each will responsible for its function like credit module which will be responsible for customer credit info same payment module which will include microfinance banking system responsible for customer bill payments.
3) Module testing:
The next step will be to test the modules so we can find if they work correct. We will test them with dummy data for example we have a module which will store data passed from sensors in database so we will give it some dummy data so we can find out if data is store or not then at the back side the other module will generate bills.
4) Integrating it with the hardware side:
The next step will be to design a mobile application which can send the data from hardware to our modules and same receiving data from module to app .
Benefits of the Project- To provide a relatively easier solution to the energy crisis.
- To provide efficient solar panel system because one perception of solar panel system is that they are inefficient.
- We are targeting an efficiency increase of 10-15% in comparison with the already available systems.
- We’ll use state of the art components to design our solar panel system.
- We’ll use TI’s(Texas Instruments) Delfino microcontroller to achieve best précised data.
- We’ll use MPPT technique to achieve the desire efficiency.
- Compatible with modern needs.
- Consumers will be able to connect with the solar panel system.
- Consumers will use Android as well as web to access the solar system.
- The solar panel system will be connected to the cloud i.e. all the data will be uploaded to cloud.
- Consumers will be able to attain the service by “pay as you go” payment scheme.
- Solar panel system will be made available in remote areas as well.
The end product of this prject will be a cloud infrastructure for 1kW prototype PV system for residential applications.the designed cloud system will have modules for example module for storing data on cloud module for genrating bills module for controlling pv system signal like on and off and an important module which will be known as microfinance bank whcih will traget the bill payment it will onclude jazz cash easy paisa and other services for paying bills every customer will have his her own account which will store customer credit which will used in bill payment the credit will be transfer to his her account through jazz cash easy paisa etc and in the last it will have a web portal for the customers and administrators the main reason for web portal will be customer care
