Project Area of Specialization Artificial IntelligenceProject SummaryThis project is making use of a people’s counting system, able to count the people entering and exiting a specific zone from a live stream video feed obtained from Internet Protocol cameras in real-time. In a time of emergency in any building or place, an exact count of people can be determined by this system. Moreover, this project will be able to mark attendance and keep a check on necessary wearables like masks or other essential pieces of equipment required by organizations to wear such as cards or gear before entering a specific region. These all features can be modified into the system as per use by training algorithms in it. This goal is achieved by the combination of two components: a detector component using a Convolutional Neural Net (YOLO) detecting people on the frame, and a tracking component utilizing a tracking algorithm (CSRT) that updates those people’s positions on the next frames.
This project will help to determine an exact count of people and mark their attendance. This project will also determine if a person crossing a specific point is wearing a mask.
Project ObjectivesThe main objectives of this project are to count people entering and exiting a place or a building. Secondly, this project will also determine if a person entering a facility is wearing a mask or not.
This system can be trained further to make a modification in gears to detect.
This system achieves this by the combination of two components: a detector component using a Convolutional Neural Net (YOLO) detecting people on the frame, and a tracking component utilizing a tracking algorithm (CSRT) that updates those people’s positions on the next frames.
A proper counting system and determination of the mask can be implemented in this project. Other than this an attendance system is also included making a hustle-free and transparent attendance of people entering a facility.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableA hardware based on NVIDIA Jetson Nano and an Internet protocol camera is included in this project. NVIDIA Jetson Nano will work as the main processor for the project and the Internet protocol camera will be responsible for providing a live video feed to the system.
