With a growing population and an increase in the number of patients, the pressure on medical doctors and hospital staff has expanded severely. At first, historically while affected person used to go to hospital his data changed into saved on papers. Nowadays, increasingly authorities, agencies and healthcare companies are transferring toward digital data on paper. A Lack of adequate security measures in Existing Systems.  IEMR is a collection of data of a patient in electronic format for medical care. In healthcare companies, Intelligent Electronic Medical Record (IEMR) System is getting used to capture, organize, preserve, and retrieve patient’s scientific data. IEMR system includes a complete database used to store and access patient’s healthcare information. It helps the doctors as well as hospital staff to provide better care and service for patient as it has all the information about the patient past visit, medications, and lab reports etc. IEMR will provide the high security to record the private data of patient. The IEMR has replaced the existing paper medical records as the primary source of information for healthcare functions for all clinical, initial test recommendation, legal, and administrative functions End to end automation from paper-based record keeping to IEMR.

Project Objectives

The Intelligent Electronic Medical Record System (i-EMR) has become one of the most important new technologies in healthcare. It’s an application that is a complete repository of patients’ clinical documents. It contains patients’ medical history, the summary of all visits, observations and treatment executed inside a care Delivery Organization. i-EMR most focuses on improvements in efficiency, patient experience, and care. i-EMR system is for capture of data in clinical research and trials. i-EMR system is used simply as an electronic typewriter, appointment scheduler, and for the recommendation.

Project Implementation Method

We will implement this project by following standard development methodology of Rational Unified Process (RUP) defined by IBM, which has four constituent phases Inception, Elaboration, Construction and Transition. 

This development methodology explicitly enforces compilation of UML artifacts for design & analysis including Domain Model, Activity Diagram, Use Case Diagram, High Level Use Case, Expanded Use Cases, System Sequence Diagram, Operation Contracts, Class Diagram, Sequence Diagram and Deployment Diagram. 

IEMR System is an web application which have an intelligent test recommendation system, Contains patient medical history, schedules appointment and summary of all record inside a health care organization.

There will be an admin interface for user management. User interface for different users of i-EMRS which includes Patient, Medical professionals, Accountant and Receptionist.

Benefits of the Project

• Intelligent Test recommendations based on symptoms has not been yet corporate in the Existing Solutions.
• Existing Systems are suffered from lack of interactivity.
• Existing Systems are not highly fault tolerant.
• Related Systems are providing basic set of functionalities.
• Lack of adequate security measures
• End to end automation from paper-based record keeping to EMR

The Intelligent i-EMRS will completely solve the problem of paper/file record system. As every detail of staff and patients will be recorded in this system, so there will be no need for traditional system. As patients will get benefit of Test Recommendation system, so they’ll be saving the cost of basic test which is recommended by most physicians. Also the system will be online.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

This project will be containing the medical health record of patients so that the physicians can check their whole record for easy understanding the symptoms and illness. The modules for doctors, receptionist, accountant, admin and even for the patients. It will contain test recommendation system which will provide the necessary tests to be taken before examination.

1. Implementation will be done in Laravel framework (MVC) for better security. All the development will be through PHP. For the database, we’ll be using MYSQL and to implement Test Recommendation Feature, Python algorithms will be used.
2. A simple approach will be applied to design the application. As the system will be totally software based and will not be costly to avoid any inconveniences.
3. The Interface is  designed  using BootStrap,JAVAScript,HTML,CSS and Jquery clear and easy to understand. All the users may understand and able to do their work comfortably.
