Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryHPAS is a platform of automation of the Fast NUCES hostel manual system and blue-collar work. This platform will automatize or robot the finance, employee, gate pass, and transport management and shall communicate to parents too. It aims to minimize the complications of all payment matters, attendance issues, and exit permits from the hostel.
Project ObjectivesThe system will provide ease to students and management so that they can easily settle in with their work. The management will be able to manage and record the attendance of its employees and their salaries are generated based on their attendance. Students will be able to acquire a gate pass without any hassle and their activity will be recorded. It will enable parents to track their child in terms of when they arrived and departed from the hostel, also be notified about the child hostel and mess finances. The students and management can track the hostel bus; it will be very helpful for the students who are waiting for the bus to arrive on the way to the hostel.
Project Implementation MethodWe are using the ASP.NET platform to design and deliver this application because we believe that asp.net is a device-independent platform and can be used by every individual of every class and type without any specific hardware requirements furthermore we have used bootstrap at the front end to make our UI more engaging and attractive to the user when we talk backend SQL server is there to handle all our queries and provide at the most performance. moreover, to make this application more reliable and compliant with software engineering practices we emphasize two major design patterns that cater to our requirements. First of all, we worked on Pure MVC that makes our code more readable and communicative dividing whole projects into specific models, views, and controllers. After this, our main focus was that once our user logs in he/she should experience no delays in operations so their connection to our database engine should be preserved till they log out, to make it possible we implemented a singleton pattern. The next challenge was that most of our employees were not that literate so to make their attendance easy we integrated advanced RFID Readers that read the pre-issued RFID cards to employees and mark their attendance accordingly. As our project is still progressing we continue to highlight more engineering challenges and arrange innovative and cost-effective solutions for them, hence making our product durable and long-lasting.
