Project Objectives Project Implementation Method

Because of the mobile phone and GSM technology, the GSM based home automation is lure to research. The SMS based home automation, GPRS based home automation and dual tone multi frequency (DTMF) based home automation, these options we considered mainly for communication in GSM.The system use transducer which convert machine function into electrical signals which goes into microcontroller. The sensors of system convert the physical qualities like sound, temperature and humidity into some other quantity like voltage. The microcontroller analysis all signal and convert them into command to understand by GSM module. Select appropriate communication method among SMS, GPRS and DTFC based on the command which received GSM module.

In initial stage we first check and connect our application to the local server and send some basic commands which make changes in database server.

In this stage we connect both mobile application and raspberry pi 2 with an internet connection.

In this section we will write server side script for the communication of all devices. The database server will done its job for the correct communication

In the final stage of development we will have database on the cloud and both mobile application and Raspberry pi could communicate with each other over the internet. Hence, mobile application facilitates remote controlling of home appliances.

The android OS provides the flexibility of using the open source. The inbuilt sensors can be accessed easily. An application with the feature to control the home appliances is developed. Mobile phone acts as a client and data is sent over a socket programming. We will use the basic toggle buttons to check the status of appliances as ON or OFF. We will have a super simple and easy drag & drop graphic interface for the initial configuration of mobile application. The user can feel free to connect or add more different appliances in the existing system.
