There is also literature available about how to plan and prepare healthy meals, but either that is irrelevant or very generalized for a specific individual. There is no one-size-fits-all formula as every individual has a different goal, dietary restrictions, allergies, and nutrient needs. In Pakistan, there is a vast working-class population with strict schedules and work commitments, due to which a vital aspect of healthy meal planning is often overlooked; therefore, junk food becomes the preferred option as it is readily available and quick to eat. This is where meal planner applications come to the rescue to build personalized meal plans with great customization to cater to every individual's needs. 

HealthifyMeal addresses all these problems and provides a one-stop solution to consumers. HealthifyMeal creates personalized meal plans in a few seconds from a mobile application to help users reach their dietary and nutritional goals based on their food preferences and schedule. It is an AI-powered application that uses Machine Learning to search and recommend the best meal plan from the database of meals created by an expert dietician. In addition, it also offers users the facility to order the same suggested food from HealthifyMeal on a weekly recurring basis, so they are entirely focused on their health and daily life. We also provide users an option to have an on-demand 1:1 virtual consultation session with a dietician.

Project Objectives
  1. To develop an AI-powered meal planner application to promote healthy meals and lifestyle.

  2. To monetize the platform and onboard users to take advantage of our learning and generate meal plans and order them from the convenience of the mobile application.

Project Implementation Method

The "Agile process model" will be used for the "HealthifyMeal" project. The Agile process model has conquered the Waterfall model's conventional techniques by getting adaptable, quick, lean, responsive, and predictable. In addition, the project will also encounter frequent changes from time to time; therefore, the iterative nature of this methodology will decrease the entire project's development time and help reduce technical debt. Agile methodologies create total alignment and transparency in the processes that yield a high-quality product with better stakeholder engagement. For all these reasons, the Agile process model is preferred.

Requirements Gathering
In this phase, all the project requirements will be gathered and analyzed. The project team holds the expertise to build the mobile application in the required time without incurring additional costs besides the allocated budget; therefore, the project is technically and economically feasible.

Design the Requirements
After the requirements gathering phase, the next step is to design the requirements. In this phase, a Block diagram, Flow chart, and Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) will be constructed to clarify project requirements. Moreover, a high-level Use case diagram will be constructed along with the Use case diagram for each action and their narratives.

Next, the prototype of the application will be developed.

Development/Iteration
The mobile application development begins in phase #3, where developers use all the deliverables from the previous phase. The android application development and training of machine learning-based models will start simultaneously. Once done, both branches of the project will be merged.

This phase focuses on developing a minimum viable product (MVP) as the product will undergo different stages of enhancements.

Testing/Quality Assurance
After application development, the next phase is testing. The assigned QA personnel will review and evaluate the whole application. QA personnel will check the application's performance and functionality, identify the glitches and bugs, test if the application complies with the given ERD, use case diagrams, prototype, and functional and non-functional requirements.

If any issues are reported, the project will return to Phase #3 to address them. Once done, QA personnel will again review the application and sign-off once no other problems are found.

Deployment
Next, the mobile application will be deployed on Google Play Store for users to download.

Feedback
Once the application is deployed, the next phase is about feedback collection and maintenance.

Users can customize and control their diet; we have got them covered whether they are vegetarian or non-vegetarian or looking to gain or lose weight. It helps save users' time and take the anxiety out of picking what to eat and how to prepare their meals — so they are no more wasting time searching and viewing cooking tutorials. Users are not skipping meals just because they are missing an ingredient. Users can review their meals for the week and get them delivered.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

HealthifyMeal uses the Supervised Learning technique of Machine Learning to induce artificial intelligence in the mobile application to generate meal plans based on the best prediction. The algorithm will improve with time as more and more data enters the system.
