Harmonics Estimation of Real Time Electrical Signal
Our project can calculate harmonics in the electrical devices. The significance of our project is that our calculated harmonics will be based on real-time and accurate. Real-time means harmonics will be monitored and calculated with respect to time or at any time.
The project can be used in industries where heavy power induction motors are run by VFDs variable frequency drives. This project can be used in grid stations for especially smart grid stations and coal generation plants. These stations use nonlinear devices which are the source of harmonics.
The method we are using here for harmonic estimation is cost-effective as we are using an Oscilloscope with a computer. There are proper devices for harmonic estimation but those devices are costly and not available in all countries. The cost of a harmonic estimation device is 10 times the cost of a normal oscilloscope.
The project is based on hardware include an oscilloscope compatible with MATLAB software. The voltage signal will be measured in an oscilloscope and data will be transferred to MATLAB directly for harmonic calculation. In MATLAB we will use the data in code.
