Guarding an Unknown and Unstructured Environment Using Turtlebot
Our project’s aim is to design and program a robot to autonomously move in an unstructure environment. This is specially designed to control the crime and terrorist activities to help security organizations and to overcome their stress. We proposed a technological system to help in responding to suspicious activities. This system is inexpensive. We will add a raspberry pi 3 camera in the turtlebot for video recording. When a human operator identifies a target in a building, then the turtlebot could be placed in to an autonomous pursuit mode. In which it will follow and monitor the target and inform the authorities.
In an autonomous project the location and environment of the area can be calculated through turtlebot along with LIDAR (Light detection and Ranging) system, which is used for remote sensing method to examine the surface of the Earth. This robot will help in security areas to find out any suspicious environment like harmful gas leakage in buildings, fire detection in indoor units. We proposed this robot to help and secure the humans inside the buildings before any damage. It will record the suspicious activity and transmit the data, so that the rescue team will reach and clear the area.
This project will be beneficial the security management system to sense and record the suspicious activity in a particular area and transmit the data to the authorities. This project will improve the security level of the autonomous robotic systems which helps to protect the human life.
1. Configure and Tune the robot to remove freely in the environment via tele-operation.
2. Using and testing various sensors such as LIDAR.
3. Incorporating visual camera to the robot to enable the computer vision algorithm to work with robot.
4. Design a Simultaneous localization and Mapping (SLAM) for the robot to build a map to move autonomously in the environment.
5. Transmit the location and recordings of the current situation in the searching area by the robot.
6. Scan and detect humans in a particular area.

Our aim is to build intelligent and smart robot to move autonomously in an unstructured environment. We apply the computer vision and machine learning methods to enable the robot to move autonomously. Here are some implementation methods.
1. Transmission of video data through the camera fixed on the robot.
2. The Computer vision algorithm SLAM will build the map of the unstructured environment.
3. The algorithm will scan the environment and detected the unavoidable activity such as detecting human.

2. It can navigate in an unknown and unstructured building autonomously, without human intervention.
3. The robot surveillance the unknown environment and examine the area where human access is impossible or dangerous.
4. The robot moves in inaccessible or disaster area such as fire broke, earthquake.
5. Detect suspicious movements.
6. Used as home robot to help human such as baby care.
We build an intelligent and autonomous robot. In the final deliverables.
1. The robot will MAP the environment using Visual Algorithms and move autonomously.
2. Through various sensors data will stream and fed to the server to draw useful applications.
3. The visual algorithm will detect human in the disaster area where human access is dangerous.
