Government Controlled Centralized System for Farmers
Project Area of Specialization Software EngineeringProject SummaryFarmers in Pakistan have to search for information regarding different crops. Especially new farmers face certain difficulties before they become experts in growing certain crops. New experiments and modern crops are also being grown in Pakistan, for which farmers need special assistance and guidance. Moreover, new methods and technologies are also introduced from time to time. The Government keeps on posting ads on TV and other platforms to provide certain information related to crop lifecycle. But interaction with TV is not consistent nowadays and the rapidly increasing number of smartphones shift the tide because they are much easier to convey information. The idea is to solve the problem of information dissemination and crop lifecycle management by offering a system that not only helps in the distribution of information but also helps track different phases of crop lifecycle. The Government/ concerned Ministry can keep providing guidelines and tasks through the system and the farmers can follow accordingly. Certain farmers may register themselves for specific crops for which they will be guided throughout the process. In short, the system will provide a complete project management cycle where one end (the Government/Ministry) is assigning tasks to the farmers, and the other end (the farmers) keep following the tasks. The farmers can also ask for help if needed and other supportive elements as nearby shops etc.
Project ObjectivesOur project objective is “To design a Government Controlled Centralized System for Farmers to eliminate the lack of adequate knowledge and promote the use of science and latest technology”
Project Implementation MethodThe Waterfall approach, the whole process of software development is divided into separate phases. The outcome of one phase acts as the input for the next phase sequentially. This means that any phase in the development process begins only if the previous phase is complete. The waterfall model is a sequential design process in which progress is seen as flowing steadily downwards (like a waterfall) through the phases of Conception, Initiation, Analysis, Design, Construction, Testing, Production/Implementation, and Maintenance.
Benefits of the ProjectOur project is based on android which will provide farmers the information regarding farming and help them determine the best approach in raising crop production in the farm fields. This application also profitable for the shops that have business relates to farming resources and tools. This will be beneficial for the social and economic state of the person and a country.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableIn the era of science and technology, farming has come a long way in the past 50 years. New experiments and researches have made it possible to grow new crops that were not possible before, as well as making existing crops easier to grow. This project is related to assist new as well as veteran farmers by conveying them information Such as crop protection, tutorial, climate reports, news regarding agriculture, etc. We are providing the information via an android app which can easily be attained by the farmers and remain up to date. It will help them grow new crops and existing crops. Most farmer’s farm in the remote area, therefore, is difficult for information to convey. If a farmer is not varying of certain climate changes that could potentially increase the chances of the crop to be ruined. In addition, new farmers due to their lack of adequate knowledge and poor practice at the production can also be the reason. Receiving the information early can help farmers sustain the damage control and overall improve the result.
The goal can be accomplished using Android, Database, and Related APIs if needed. We also provide the web interface to the admin so that database can be maintained with ease. All features offered by the application will assist the farmers to make decisions regarding farming as well as be fully informed on known crop production and crop protection. Our application will not provide a platform where they can train farmers physically. Farmers cannot pay for farming resources via mobile application.
