Project Area of Specialization Software EngineeringProject SummaryThe project is made in React Native using the React Native CLI by the help of ehich, we strive to obtain a detailed overview of missing people and the unidentified John Doe's in the hospitals. By establishing this, we work towards a series of steps that will help find missing persons. Our system has the functionality of reporting a missing person, witnessing a missing person and reporting a sighting. It also has an additional factor of hospital personnel uploading unidentified John Doe’s pictures to our database so that any person with the reported details of the person is uploading is immediately identified using our system, furthermore the reported profiles are also accessible to trusted legal enforcement personnels.
Project ObjectivesThe purpose of our project is to help in finding missing people and provide a hope to the bereaved family members who are in search of their loved ones. There are a lot of missing people in Pakistan yearly and no concrete efforts are made to find them and more so the cases on these missing people get dropped if the trails run cold. So to ensure that the people missing are found and to anchor the grieving families we create this project.
The main goal of this work is to easily and efficiently identify people involved in accidents that carry no means through which the hospital staff can identify them.
Furthermore we strive to be a medium for those looking for the dead bodies found at the morgues that need identification but have no ID on them, Added to the list is the grueling business of handicapped beggars that often are kidnapped from their respective homes our goal is to locate them and reunite them with their respective families.
Project Implementation MethodThere are three basic users for our app: Genral Public, Hospital Staff and Admin.
Genral Public can use all basic feature of the app. Hospital Staff can also access all the features along with an additional feature changing the current status of the patients. Admin is a user too who is responsible for log in records and updating of database for any new information, also can update or delete a record .
Benefits of the ProjectThe purpose of “Glittering Thread” app is a tool to assist the Gaurdians/parents to find Missing people in an interactive manner. It aims to complement the efforts of a Gaurdian to find thier missing beloved ones .
Scope of this project is very broad in terms of other manually finding missing pepole.
Few of them are:
1. This can be used by parents/Gaurdians to find missing people easily through various options available such as age,gender , image and many more . Can be used anywhere any time as it is a mobile application. This app can be used by many grieving families who want to find thier missing loved ones.
2. This app can also be user by hospital staff who can upload unidentified patients data , that can be identified by familes sooner or later.
3. This app can also be used by Social Workers who can identifty childrens who are bound to work unlawfully and are perhaps kidnapped .
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThis is successfully satisfying the users of the basis requirement. The tools and application software are used in this project are very popular and easily available across the world.
The software is build using React Native,The backend of the system is Firebase.
The software is a very reliable, one because there is no chance of system failure as there are only limited user which can access the database that are registered members and the Administrator and the software have enough capability to maintain its performance over time.
The major advantage of this system is that a userdoesn’t need to access it on a particular device due to its latest use of technology (React- Native).
