Geothermal Energy for Conditioning of air space
Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummarySummary:
The consumption of high-grade energy has increased considerably with growing needs to achieve thermal comfort conditions inside buildings, residential, greenhouses, livestock buildings, etc.
It is desirable to minimize the use of high-grade energy consumption and to promote the use of renewable energy in order to save the earth from hazardous effects of global warming and ozone layer depletion. Numerous alternative techniques are being currently explored to achieve thermal comfort conditions inside buildings.
Just a few meters below the surface, the Earth maintains a near-constant temperature throughout the year (Bisoniya et al. 2013), in contrast to the summer and winter extremes of the ambient air above ground. This constant temperature is called earth’s undisturbed temperature (EUT). The EUT remains higher than ambient air temperature in winter and lower than ambient air temperature in summer.
Similarly, the underground water has a constant temperature throughout the year. The earth–water heat exchanger is one of the promising techniques which can effectively be used to precool the air in summer and vice versa in winter.
The same concept will be utilized to harness the water temperature for conditioning of the air space. (comparative study).
Project ObjectivesObjectives:
The Aim of this project is to used Geo-thermal energy for conditioning of air space. The project will focus on the following primary objectives.
- Making up an efficient cooling system
- Making up an efficient heating system
- Reduced the toxic emission of gases
Methodology:
- In this project the methodology that we should follow is quite simple
- In this project we will focus on the following activities
- Collecting data related to geothermal energy for conditioning of air space.
- Analysis of radiator systems using mathematical & Numerical Methods.
- The project which we are presenting is a hardware based.
- We will use that type of components which are easily available in the market and are cheaper.
- For testing, we design a prototype of small-scale geothermal system for conditioning of air space.
Benefits:
- Reduced Energy consumption
- Reduced Gas load shading problem
- Avoid the problem of Humidity in cooler fan in summer
- Reduced Emission of toxic gases
purely hardware based
