But these conventional methods have many drawbacks like time consuming, monotonous, slow and inconsistent etc. The main aim of this project is to replace the manual inspection system. This helps in speed up the process, improve accuracy and efficiency and reduce time. This system collect image from camera, then image processing is done to get required features of fruits such as texture, color and size, then acknowledge is sent to the controller of Arduino compatible with PC. The controller is programmed in the Arduino to check the input process according to the algorithm and then give the signal to actuator for different position and to place the object. There is simple conveyor arrangement to place the object for sorting mechanism. The main advantages of automated fruit sorting are cost effective, reliable, greater product stability, safety, speed, accurate sorting can be achieved, improve the quality of the product, Abolish inconsistent manual evaluation and reduce dependence on available traditional inspection.
Project Objectives- To provide efficient system that is enough to provide better fruit sorting as compared to manual sorting.

- To reduce cost.
- To automate system provides correct, fast and quality feature detection of fruits.
- To provides precise, accurate and reliable information about fresh and rotten fruits.
The project implementation involves two major steps. First is the acquiring and sorting of fruits through image processing and second is dispensing of fruits on a conveyer belt arrangement. These two processes are interrelated to achieve the final goal i.e. to finalize the sorting of fruits after acquiring images and then dispensing on the conveyer belt arrangement .The sorting of fruits is done by image processing on MATLAB then based on the decision that either fruit is rotted or not, dispensing is done on the conveyer belt arrangement with the help of Arduino.
Benefits of the Project- This automated system provides correct, fast and quality feature detection of fruits.
- This project involves grading and detection of fruit based on their spoilness by using image processing which provides precise, accurate and reliable information about large volume of fruits which may not be carried out by employing human being.
- It reduces the labor concentration and provides us highly efficient and low cost object sorting and dispensing system.
- This automated system provides vast range of applications in marble industries, paint industries and food industries.
The main deliverable of this project is to provide fast, correct and precise sorting and dispensing of fruits based on their color, size and features with the help of image processing which is fast , accurate and reliable technique that reduces cost and man power. Based on the result of image processing dispensing of fruits is done on conveyer belt arrangement controlled by Arduino which takes input from MATLAB.
