Project Area of Specialization Augmented and Virtual RealityProject SummaryFlamingo-A smart guide is an application aimed to make our day to day tasks easier by connecting people using augmented reality. How it does that? Be it any place in the world with internet connectivity, just draw your favorite hologram and anchor it to that specific location. Furthermore, you can connect to people by interacting with the holograms left behind by them. Be it reviews for a restaurant, movie, cinema or a blood donor at a specific blood bank, all you need to do is scan your surroundings using your phones’ camera to look for holograms or see avatars on maps while sitting at home and voila! you can connect to anyone with one single tap.
Project ObjectivesThe main objective of Flamingo is to give you a social media experience that goes beyond the screen and strengthens your connection with the world. We want to make every contact more valuable and meet exciting new people and visit the places they cherish. With every post we provide you with a new place to discover. Our objective is to use augmented reality in a way not previously done.
Project Implementation MethodHardware platform:
Smart phones( accelerometer, magnetometer, gyroscope, GPS, camera), with OS Android 8.0 or later, GPU texture resolution 1080p, 720p, 480p. ? Servers:
1. Database Server: MongoDB : 8GB memory for 800.00 assets. We also need ARAugmentedImageDatabase server to store digital images of users. 10 2. Web Server : 32 GB RAM for 50 requests per hour to cater static requests 3. Application server: The application server requirements will be: 2GB of RAM 18 GB of free hard disk space Processor : Xeon 3000 Series or Core 2 Duo
Software components: Android Studio, ARCore( Augmented reality library), Vuforia, Unity, Sceneform(Graphics Library), Cloud anchors, Node JS, WebXR Device API( AR for Web) Databases: ARAugmentedImageDatabase, MongoDB.

Blood Donor
For blood donor who wants to donate the blood will leave behind his hologram so that the people who need blood can interact them with hologram.
The tourist:
Tourists can get recommendations about the restaurants by interacting with the holograms in that restaurant as well as can know the distance to the specific restaurant.
Common people:
People can also use this smart guide for their ease for example for educational purpose they can get recommendations about a school through interaction with the holograms A person can also interact with the holograms inside the cinema to get recommendations about the movies
The final deliverable is a mobile application developed in Android Studio, using google Playstore services.
Android 8.0 or later is required to run this project on an Android phone.
