Project Area of Specialization Augmented and Virtual RealityProject SummaryThis project maps to an experiment with virtual reality (VR) simulator in a bid to bolster the basic First aid skills of people, long before they step inside an actual emergency situation. A virtually realistic environment will be designed to train people so they can become a lifesaver for society.
This simulator provides four different training modules as given below.
- Training to handle victims of road accidents.
- Training to handle and escape in case of house fire.
- Training to escape and protection in case of earthquake.
- Training to perform Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for victim of cardiac arrest.
Major objectives of this project are as follows.
- To prepare a training simulator in which technology serves human beings while maintaining safety principles.
- A solution that allows you to achieve a higher level of knowledge acquisition and skills.
- A transformation of first aid training to the virtual world to prove it an invaluable experience of saving life to the injured person and increases the feeling of self-confidence in the real lifethreatening situation.
- To prepare an environment in which user can face different situations in the virtual world, that will be helpful in moment of real occurrences.
- To prepare people to be an emergency rescuer.
This project is based on Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology. The main goal of using RAD model is to produce the initial working form of application as soon as possible and then several iterations can be perform later on as per user guide and time flexibility. Product becomes more refined after every iteration. Each iteration makes the product near to completion.
Development Tool
Unity 3d Unity 3d is real time cross platform for game development first developed by Unity technologies. It is used for development of 2D,3D,VR and AR games and simulations.

- Provides an invaluable experience of saving life to the injured person.
- Increases the feeling of self-confidence in user while facing the real lifethreatening situation.

The end product will be a high graphics desktop based training simulator designed in Unity 3D and integrated with Oculus Rift CV1 and Oculus touch sensors to train user in a virtually realistic environment.
