The main objective of this project is to make an online system for the local mechanical shops. This platform is providing all of the facilities for the local mechanics to digitalize their business. They can register themselves and provide their services to the buyers. There are three interfaces the system service provider interface, buyer, interface, and admin panel. There are so many features in the system to facilitate the buyer and service provider according to the digital environment. In Pakistan, due to the lockdown in pandemics, all the local businesses are shut down and local mechanical shops are one of them. They suffer big time when they don't get their customers. So they need an online platform where they can provide their services directly to their customers.  This will also be a help for those shops who don't have enough sources to develop their online mobile application. In recent times we have seen some apps that come with the idea that we have but there are numerous drawbacks to them. The main purpose of these apps is that they developed for popular shops and some selected audiences of that particular area. But our platform facilitates all over the public and every shop can register itself and can get their business and customer online.

Project Objectives

Nowadays, every business is involved in a digital platform. Internet is being used everywhere and smartphones are common in our era. So everyone wants to grow their business through digital marketing. As you see recently in the covid-19 pandemic everyone works online from their home, the need for an online business is booming these days. As you can see the local mechanical shops in our area are completely shut down in the pandemic. They need an online platform for their business to get their daily wages. We develop a mobile app and web app to facilitate these local mechanical shops and their customers to overcome this problem. The main problem is that people are not coming out of their houses to repair their vehicles, so there should be an online platform where service providers and customers consult each other for their work during such a pandemic. We develop an online mechanical servicing mobile app and web app in which customers and service providers register themselves with their emails and phone numbers. They also upload their Permanent location for a better experience to get the services. They both have their profiles with ratings of their previous record and reviews. The service provider can mention its services in his/her profile with the experience.  The service provider can sell their services directly to his/her client either in-home or shop or any other place. There are two different types of services for different vehicles i.e. Bike services and Car services. In the bike services tab, only bike mechanical shops are registered and in-car services tab, car servicing shops are registered. 

Project Implementation Method

From the user’s perspective, the software system will be embedded in the Android app or Website. The system will be implemented in the local businesses environment.

The Graphical Processing Unit will be required to efficiently work the Emergency service and find the shop and customer’s location. The operating environment for the Fair Repair system is as listed below.

• Android App: Minimum android version 5.0
• Website: Chrome/ Opera/ Firefox OS, Windows, Mac OSX.
• Database: SQL database
• Platform: Java, JavaScript, Html, CSS, PHP

Benefits of the Project

This project has a great reference for the future as this is just a prototype and further, a lot of work can be done to make this business digitalize. We come up with this idea as inspiration from fiverr.com. This platform is much needed in Pakistan to boost local businesses. It can also be used as a global mechanical market in the future. It’s also very beneficial for the government as you see in the pandemic these local mechanical shops are completely shut down. But if we already had this type of platform, this business could easily run on an online system. The rapidly increased poverty rate could also be manageable for the government in these difficult periods.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Following are the technical constraints that are being faced by the fair repair developers:

GPS System:

One of the biggest limitations is the system is to allocate the correct location to specific users. In case of emergency, the user will also try to find the nearest shop from its location. it needs different queries and conditions for the developer.

Popular tab:

In the popular tab, there are the highest-rated and nearest located shops and the users can also make his/her favorite list. The GPS and rating/ review system will also integrate with it.

App and web:

Our target is to develop an Android app and web that will work in any environment but the main thing is that there will also be web users in the related organization where the system will be implemented So web development will be the problem that we might face during development because web and Android is a different platform and their languages are also different and our target is the end-user. The different databases are used for both and there must be an issue of API’s Integration. But we will overcome this problem by using web development and the latest technologies and tools.
