Project is based on vehicle rental system app but not a traditional rental system, in fact, a platform that would allow anyone to rent their specific vehicle at any time and any place. The system would allow users to choose from the list of suggested vehicles which are being recommended based on previous choices, vehicle ratings and the nearest available vehicles using user's past selection. The app would also allow users to specifically search for a desired vehicle. Another aspect of our design would let users to rate the vehicle after their experience which would be used to calculate the average overall rating of that vehicle for later selection by other users. This app would also provide a good way for people to earn some cash on weekends or to make use of their idle vehicles in free time. The app also provides cost estimation on the basis of distance, mileage and current fuel price.

Project Objectives

The main objective of the project is to reduce the hassle and ease the service of renting for the users by providing a generalized environment. It also provides an opportunity for users to earn an income through their extra car that they use very often. The objective is provide the users with an application that can allow them to become renters and put their idle cars on rent. On the other hand, it allows other users to become the rentees and rent the cars from renters.

Project Implementation Method

E-RACE is the project that aims to generalize the concept of renting a vehicle by allowing anyone to put their idle vehicles on rent and anyone nearby who wants to use the vehicle can contact the rentor to rent it out. Users will be Renters and Rentees.

Renters:

Renters will be able to add their idle vehicles, they can edit the details of their vehicle and if they want to use the vehicle for themselves, they can remove it from the E-RACE app.Renters can add more than one cars if they have more than one idle vehicle in their garage.

Rentees:

Rentees will be able to search for the vehicles by using the search bar. Rentees can search by applying filters of year, make, model and nearby location. Rentees can also check suggestions of vehicles based on their previously rented vehicles. Rentees can book the vehicle and they can pay for rent using their credit cards, easypaisa or cash on delivery. Both renter and rentee can get into contact through a messenger provided in the application. Payment will be authorized through Authorize.net.

Admins:

Admins can see all the Renters and their information. Admins can also remove Renters in case of complaints, bad reputation or if the renter is not following the terms and conditions of E-RACE application. Admins can keep track of all the transactions being made. Admins can track a rentee in case rentee wants to steal the car.

Project will be considered successful when people start using E-RACE frequently and reporting less issues and providing positive feedback on how it improves their car rental problems.

Benefits of the Project

Project will benefit its users by saving time, fuel, money and energy during long commutes. This project makes it easier for users to rent nearby vehicles and on the other hand it benefits the renters as they can earn some extra cash from their extra vehicles staying idle in garage.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

System uses React Native for front-end development i.e. designing UI. Firebase is used for Back-end development i.e. connecting databases to UI and  to create database of system.

Communication is done through Wi-Fi or mobile internet. In-App messenger uses TCP protocol.

Servers for database storage is will be used when the app launches.
