Energy audit is a process that helps you to identify where your energy is losing  and what steps you can take to improve energy efficiency. An  energy audit is something that every homeowner/industrialist should be doing every two to three years in order to ensure maximum efficiency and spending.In any Industrial and residential area the only easiest way of saving expenses are found to be energy. In the recent years Pakistan has been facing an increase in energy demand due to its large population and tremendous increase of industrial sector electricity requirement. To improve national growth and to reduce the increasing energy demand, introducing PV (photovoltaic) system which reducing energy consumption is the best option and also helps in decreasing energy costs. The largest consumption in residential, industries and workshops from all available energy consuming sectors. Preliminary audit we first do to reduce the energy consumption. All the lighting data of the buildings were collected and an energy audit was conducted with the idea of introducing new system to reduce the energy consumption. The main scope of this energy audit is based on the idea of effective energy conservation in buildings. In this project we work on the residential and industrial consumption devices and reduce energy through different methodology.

Project Objectives

The thought behind conducting the audit is to:
1.Develop standards for all energy consuming appliances and introduce practice of investigating these standards.

2.Promote the culture of energy conservation and energy independence..

3.Set procedures that make it mandatory for builders to get an energy conservation audit done beforehand.

4.Encourage peoples to opt for “retrofitting public buildings

5.Promote the concept of Green Building and construct a complete Green Building.

Step by Step Procedure of Work:-

The steps for conducting the energy audit are as follows:-

Preliminary Walk?Through Survey:-

The first step for carrying out a detailed energy analysis is to conduct a walk?through survey which will require  to visit the facility and analyze the existing situation of energy consumption, number of rooms, the type of load being run and the equipment being used at the facility. The team will have the following checklist against which observations will be made:-

On the basis of the prliminary walk through which give us the current existing energy in building or sector.Base upon this data we perform detail energy survey.

Benefits of the Project

Energy audit has enormous benefits which are followings

  1. It helps to mitigate energy cost in our facilities.
  2. As the industry point  if we reduce the production cost compititeness of industry will improve.
  3. It helps us to reduce the enviromental pollution and damage.
  4. It increases the security of our energy.
  5. It reduces the consumption of our resources.
  6. It can reduce the damage to enviroment due to consumption of natural resources.
  7. It can reduce the immpact of GHG(Green House Gas).

At particular levels it has some of the major benefits of energy audit.

In summary, energy audit helps us to identify the existing energy aand consumption and it envolve to do meaure to maximize the load and efficiency.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

It'll be in the form of  both report and hardware.For example at the end of the project we will  do following work

Timer circuit:-

Timer circuit which will enable us to  ON/Off the device through application which we have in our mobile.For example our geyser in university ON for 24 hour if we run it for 10 hours because 14 hours our geyser haven't used.Following calculations explain  this scenario.

DOU of geysers are 180 days and 24 hours. If we operate geysers for 10 hours per day with timers circuit we can save following amount of money annually

2.Automatic room light controller

For example in many houses,institutions and industries people don't care for ON/OFF of lights.So through this device we are going to reduce the extra hours of lighting consumption.
