Electronic Voting System Using Bio-metric Authentication
Electronic Voting System was implemented with the Arduino mega controller. In this System a voter poll his vote easily. The entire information of the voters is stored in the database. This information will be checked by the database server, if there is anything wrong, the system will not allow the voter to poll his or her vote. Similarly the system also avoids re-voting of an individual. The voting information will be transfered to a web server through a Wi-Fi module, administrator/polling station incharge can check the progress by connecting to that Wi-Fi network. This system is helpful to the voters and decreases the time of voting process also. It is more Secured way of voting. Fingerprint Voting System is user-friendly. It has simple architecture, Very quick response, Reduce the staff of voting center, it provides easy and accurate counting of votes.
The objectives of the project are :
This voting system is implemented using aurduino mega 2560 which has four hardware serials on which we have implemented fingerprint sensor and wi-fi module. The hardware design has a Finger print sensor which is used to compare the finger print of the user with the pre-stored finger print of the user.
During voting, the finger prints of the voter is checked for matching and if it does not match, then further process will not proceed.
After matching fingerprint the user is asked to press the respective button in the keypad to cast his vote to the desired political party representative.
At the same time the vote count will be updated on web using specific IP of the Wi-Fi module.
After completing the voting process the officers use a specific code/password to check the results.
The whole system is controlled through arduino Mega controller.
