Electric bicycle using bldc motor
Project Area of Specialization RoboticsProject SummaryOur basic idea was to make a motor powered bicycle. The motor will be powered by high power batteries and could be switched on when needed.
The user will have to pedal to charge the battery which in turn will power the motor. The motor could be turned on difficult terrains easing the user.
Project Objectives- To program the motor using hall effect sensor
- To achieve a suitable range on batteries
- To reduce the cost of travel for shorter distances
- To develop self-charging method
- Pollution-free transportation
first we selected the componenets for our project, we selected a hub motor of 250W rating. we selected two solid state batteries of 12V to power up the motor. then we adjust the hub motor in the bicycle. we make a motor driver circuit using PIC microcontroller. then we program the microcontroller to drive the motor using batteries. motor is three phse Brushless DC so the microcontrooler is designed in such a way as to provide the motor with accurate phase responses that are detected by the hall sensor present in the motor housing. afterward self charging circitary will be developed and working protype of an E-Bike will be presensted
Benefits of the ProjectE-Bike is quite convenient than any other normal bike, and there are many benefits in the form of sophistication and unique features, which may not be possible on conventional bicycles.
e- bikes can travel suitable distance on batteries.
they can attain good speed.
energy efficient and pollution free.
An electric bicycle capable of travelling a range of 30 kilometres on a single charge of batteries while acheiving a top speed of 40 kmph.
Batteries can be charged through pedaling and also through the external wall charger.
the final product is noiseless and produces no carbon footprint.
