Efficient Yarn Quality Control System For Textile industries
Modern industries are carrying more automated work than traditional human involved system, as it costs more manpower and cost, results are not so accurate in terms of production and quality maintenance. Textile sector of Pakistan is one of the top revenue generators. In textile industries electronic automated systems playing vital role to achieve top level quality, but still quality checking is not so effective. For this currently ultraviolet rooms are developed where human are involved to achieve this task manually. It is very difficult to observe each yarn cone to be correctly examined and identified by human. The temperature and humidity level of such room stays high level that’s why human being performance varies accordingly. The traditionally yarn cone is placed in front of ultraviolet lights to identify the quality of yarn but still the size of cone, broken/damaged cones are observed by the workers which is still creating a mess of results.
This proposed system carries the human avoidance in high temperature and humid area and avoidance of coming in front of ultraviolet rays by using conveyer belt carrying yarn cone and passing through the automated room of ultraviolet rays for checking. Quality of yarn is carried out at the same time the size, weight of cone, dust and damaged cones will be sorted by the image processing unit through defined values set in controller.
This system will provide huge advantage in textile industries across Pakistan. This will be the pioneering work in this field as it hasn’t been offered in various textile units visited in Karachi, Kotri, Lahore and some other cities of Pakistan.
Conclusion :
This project is divided into two parts one is the sorting of objects through image processing along with usage of ultraviolet light in which identification process of quality control will done, the second part of this project is robotic arm which separate the yarn cone which succefully passed the quality identification process and wasted yarns.
Result :
The main purpose of this project to reduce human efforts, time, errors, more efficiency, the measurement of quality factors and management system of an object and low cost which can afford easily.Textile industries can get many advantages from this project this is very useful for textile manufacturing.
Aims and Objectives of Project:
The system will be designed to achieve the following task
The second part of this project to pick and place the object through robotic arm in particular places separately by quality conditions which detected through image processing.This project can solve the all problems it can perform all the tasks about quality and management system of yarn cones efficiently through image processing it will identify the all above factors.and robotic arm will separate wasted and correct material.
This project is based on textile industries, in this project we are using these components conveyor belt, stepper motors ,servo motors, ultra violet lights, cameras,proximity sensors and robotic arm.here the wroking of project is start from conveyor belt which rotate through stepper motors by the instructions of Arduino / microcontroller, to move forward the yarn cone to the identification section when the object is properly reach their position in that section then proximity sensors transmite the signal to the Arduino and arduino will will stop the movement of conveyor belt for few seconds then detect the quality of yarn cone, in the identification section there is ultraviotel lights which hits the object and cameras to take image and send it to the controller for image processing when it done then conveyor belt will start moving again, next step is to separate the checked yarns and wasted yarns which performed by the robotic arm through the instruction which is recieved from the quality indentification process.
On the basis of textile industries the majority of work is perform by manual and more time consuming due to humans, sometimes human error occurs and their performance is not efficient ,The quality factors specially in textile industries played very important role .This project can solve the all the problems of quality and management system..In textile industries there is ultra violet rooms where workers are performing their tasks to check the quality of objects (yarn cones) through ultra violet rays and these rays are harmful for humans. and due to high temperature and humidity along with ultraviolet rays causing improper checking and health issues to the workers in textile industries, this cause improper quality checking process.
but this project can solve all the problems efficiently whitout human interfare
