Project Summary

Now-a-days Power shortage is most common problem in under developing countries, so it is not easy to charge the batteries at home or at charging stations as it is time consuming. Today , World is moving towards renewable energies , so we thought to integrate EVs with Solar Panel . As Electric Vehicles result in reduction of noise pollution and good impact on greenhouse effect. In this way we don’t need WAPDA to fulfill the charging requirement of Electric Vehicle’s batteries. As Pakistan is suffering through major Energy Crisis like Energy Shortage and load shedding. It is great idea to laminate the Electric Vehicle with Solar Panels.
We are working on the perfect mounting of solar panels on EV which includes angle , alignment and some other factors of solar panels through which we can get maximum efficiency . As well as we are making an efficient BMS (Battery Management System) and working on Fast Charging Mechanisms with good effect on battery life cycle.
Improving Vehicle’s performance is one of the most important factors in promoting the EV market by prolonging battery life and integration of Solar ,reducing the cost of ownership and giving confidence in the product to potential customers.
We are integrating the solar panel with EV, so whenever sun radiations fall on the EV’s Surface which is solar Laminated, Uninterruptible Power Supply will receive a signal and battery continues to start charging. As Solar panel is also mounted , so we don’t need to always search for a charging station ,We can park our car anywhere under the sunshine and battery will start charging. We are setting the cut off charging point before the battery fully charged.

Project Objectives

To make an efficient charging system of battery.
2. To Improve Performance of EV with integration of Solar
3. To study the battery cycle life on the payback period.
4. To develop a simple control strategy, to make the charging system cost effective.
5. To Design an efficient BMS ( Battery Management System)

Project Implementation Method

Designing of BMS (Battery Management System)
Designing of BMS for optimized power and prolonged life of Batteries
Selection of solar panels and their testing
The solar plates can give direct power to the vehicle and can also charge the batteries for the night
journey of the vehicle.
Manufacturing of Power Controller Mechanism
Designing of Power supply controller for specific Voltage and current Measures.
Assembling the parts
After designing the different parts like Power Controller and BMS, There comes a point to assemble them to generate output.

1. Removal of the power shortage crisis.
2. Charging of EV’s battery anywhere without the consumption of worthy time
3. No need to pay bills of electricity to Power Companies.
4. Reducing the cost of ownership and giving confidence in the product to potential customers.
5. Reduction of noise pollution and good impact on greenhouse effect
6. Promote Renewable energy to save healthy atmosphere.
