The electoral process is the foundation of democracy in a country. The clean and transparent electoral process ensures the true representation of people. Considering the e-voting system without a comprehensive understanding of state-of-the-art technology and its vulnerabilities would lead towards unrealistic expectations which will eventually lead toward undue distrust on the pooling process. This study will focus conducting a systematic literature review to explore state-of-the-art on biometric voter registration and verification, electronic voting (e-voting) systems, voter anonymity in e-voting system, transparency of e-voting system, the audit of an e-voting system and cybersecurity of e-voting system. An important factor in the voting process is to validate the vote integrity without knowing the voter credentials. This issue will be resolved with block chain. Processes and system architecture of the e-voting system will be designed under guidelines explored in systematic literature reviews. A complete working solution of biometric registration and verification and e-voting system will be developed. The developed solution would be readily deployable and would be tested in an institutional election.
