When awareness about fossil fuels was not clear and their burning effect on the environment as well as on the human health’s. The problem was a large amount of energy loss and the dangerous chemical pollutants. Efficiency is the most important parameter to judge the performance of a machine. The efficiency of the internal combustion engine is up to only 35%. Regarding its use in the vehicles only 22% out of this 35% is given up to the wheels of the vehicle. This is imputable to the mechanical and thermal losses in the engine itself and the frictional forces experienced by the vehicle. These losses make ICE powered vehicles economically inefficient. The impacts of fuel burning in ICEs are also not pleasant for the surroundings. These engines are not environmentally friendly at all. The discharge of carbon compounds is poisonous for the ambiance. Thus, an environment friendly substitute is required.
The need of alternative fuel in automobile sector has given way to the new technologies like Electrical Vehicles. A lot of new advancements has to made to make these technologies easy to use, cheap and commercialize. So the inconsistency between the fossil fuel and minimum emission vehicle can be made possible by the hybrid technology. Hybrid vehicle are those which can run on two or more powering sources fuels and the best combination for hybrid vehicle are electric and fossil fuel. The electric power is used for better performance, better fuel economy and causes no pollution. The Hybrid Bike driving mode system is more stable, efficient, and economical. More over the concern about the environment with respect to the dangerous chemicals and the conservation of the fuel resources in the world can be make less by the hybrid technology. The combined effort of the conventional engine and the electric motor in propelling the vehicle more suitable for the country like Pakistan. Thus the hybrid bike is best suited for the growing urban areas of Pakistan with high traffic. The objective is to design and fabricate a two wheeler hybrid vehicle powered by both fossil fuel and battery (electric energy).
Project Objectives- To design a controller for E-power Hybrid bike
- Energy Management System for the batteries
- To design the Circuit that convert the battery to the petrol when remaining battery is 10 percentage.
- To generate the power when we are standing in the signal.
- Generation of E-power through Regenerative Braking System
- To generate the power when we are on the road
- To develop an Eco-friendly, Cost-efficient Vehicle
Initially we’ll do the literature survey to demonstrate our understanding and key concepts and familiarize about the basics. By doing this we get to know about different methods and technologies on which world is currently working and what has to be done in the future.
Through literature survey we’ll design the circuit diagram to depict what are the physical arrangement has to made and then we shall search out the components in the market. These arrangements are done after reading and gaining the clear concepts about the things and the main idea which is best suitable for our project.
After this we’ll select our hardware and purchase it. Our actual practical working starts with this step. Now after purchasing the components from the market we shall start working on our project.
The next step will be the integration of that hardware and surety of the improved quality of their operations. After taking the suitable reading again and again we should improve the quality. We’ll perform the testing and observe the results. This is our final and last step which is very important because this shall be our actual product. Our project goal has to be achieved in this step.
Benefits of the ProjectWe are regenerating the power when we convert the bike from battery to fuel when we convert the battery to fuel we again charge our battery from three method the first one is regenerative breaking system the second one when we are standing in the traffic signal we charging our battery and the third one is when bike is running on the road.

- Battery management system
- To design the convertor for converting the 48 to 12 volts.
- To design the convertor for converting the 12 to 48 volts and also installing the generator to generate the voltage.
- To design the circuit that protect our controller from back EMF of BLDC.
