E-Commerce Store using Augmented Reality

Project Area of Specialization

Augmented and Virtual Reality

Project Summary

VR eCommerce Store is going to be the advanced step in this field. In the area of Ecommerce Stores, we are targeting only a single product niche (Shoes). Today, shopping online is at a peak, so giving users the authentic experience at home for the product through the Augmented Reality Module of our Project will make it more accessible and efficient for the users to buy the shoes. Our website will have the ability to measure the size of a user's foot using their camera; they just have to pint their camera to their feet. Our website has machine learning algorithms on the back-end to measure the feet size etc. Then the system will present shoes of only the height of the user's feet. Then in the next module of our project user can see all the available shoes available for his feet size. Then he can try them Augmentedly on their feet by the camera. When a user points the camera to his feet, our web will Augment shoes on his feet to try them out and choose the best shoes for him.

Project Objectives

Giving consumers a chance to visualize what a product will look like before they buy it is a "pre-purchase" approach that many companies are trying to get into. Instead of focusing on VR (e.g., a computer-generated world), technology companies have also entered the AR space.

The reality created by the unpopularity of taxpayers we see is different from VR, as part of what users see is an actual video, and a few visuals are covered. For example, a buyer can install a headset and immediately see the room where they previously stood. AR then allows products and objects to be protected beyond their view. Suddenly, they saw a blanket in their room and thought they could buy it or a new lamp on their desk. By allowing consumers to see how certain items will fit into their daily lives, AR can provide better visibility than the visuals in Augmented stores.

An international Swedish, IKEA, has already launched an AR catalog app that lets you see what specific furniture items will look like in your home. Buyers can almost imagine what these pieces will look like, and more importantly, how they will fit in their home, depending on the size of the product. Commercial giants like Converse and Lego have also started using AR technology to show users what specific products will look like.

These types of visuals offer a new level of customer communication. Instead of simply reading the product description and its size on the board to understand what it will look like, they can press a button and see for themselves.

Project Implementation Method

The Agile Manifesto formally introduced the idea of Agile Software Development in 2001. Agile is a collection of software development methods used by developers to quickly develop and continuously improve the software. The Agile methodology focuses on incremental and iterative development models on process adaptability and customer satisfaction by rapidly delivering working software products. Agile Methods break the product into small incremental builds. These builds are provided in iterations. Each iteration typically lasts from about one to three weeks. The Agile model was primarily designed to help a project adapt to change requests quickly. So, the main aim of the Agile model is to facilitate quick project completion. To accomplish this task, agility is required. Skill is achieved by fitting the process to the project, removing activities that may not be essential for a specific project. Also, anything that is a wastage of time and effort is avoided.

Benefits of the Project

Advantages/Benefits of Proposed System

  • Engages customers

Experiential marketing is the most valuable type of marketing but has always been the most challenging and cost-restrictive. Now, Augmented Reality is turning every kind of marketing into experiential marketing. Brands that engage and interact with their customers have a much higher chance of success, and Augmented Reality is an automated way to do just that.

  • Makes Online Products "Tangible"

"Try before You Buy" and "See It in Your Space" Augmented Reality is extremely popular with online shoppers. The beauty and fashion industry is offering customers "Try before You Buy" AR features to see how the product looks on them, including in different sizes and colors. Furniture and home décor businesses use AR to show customers what other products will look like in their homes. It's incredibly convenient, informative, and fun!

  • Improves customer satisfaction and reduces returns

By making online products "visible," products improve consumer confidence, which, in turn, reduces returns. Customers are more likely to say "add to the cart," to improve sales. They are less likely to return items, saving companies from shipping, recycling, and cost recovery. It is a financial success for companies, as well as winning the satisfaction of their customers.

  • Customize the shopping experience

The unpopularity of taxpayers we see in e-commerce enhances the shopping experience by making us collaborate. By giving customers control over digital objects in their real world, they feel more connected to your product and product. They can adjust features, colors, sizes and browse through products that appeal to them. It is as if they have a lowly salesman in their hands.

  • Provides automated store navigation

Speaking of a craft dealer in their hands… Reality can support the sale of bricks and mortar, too. For example, have you ever walked around a hardware store trying to find someone to help you? Well, what if the store's website has an AR feature that will paint a yellow brick road to follow the store to the product you need? It's just a straightforward thing AR can do.
