Duat Monitoring System Of PV Cells
Project Area of Specialization Artificial IntelligenceProject SummaryConsiderable loss in conversion efficiency of solar PV system has been noticed due to non availability of proper insulation, tilt angle and orientation of pannel and accumulation of dust particles on the panels or shading. Many factors are affecting the solar panel performance. Some factors are proportional positively on the obtained electrical power, while other factors are affecting negatively. Light intensity level represents an important parameter with respect to the effectiveness of the solar panel, the collected solar energy which converted to the electrical power is proportional with the instantaneous level of light intensity. Dust density level is the other parameter which represents an obstacle between light beams and the front surface of the solar panel. The dust’s particles deposits on the panel which will reduce the amount of radiation falling on the PV cells from the sun light. Besides the variety of dust density in every region, the angle of the surface can collect more dust. The more horizontal is the surface, the more dust particles will be collected on that surface .Ambient temperature has high priority effect on the solar panel effectiveness. In other word, increasing panel temperature value is leading to reduce the delivered power from the panel. Ambient humidity also affects negatively the panel performance. Many electronic monitoring systems are proposed in literature for continuous measuring, recording, and/or controlling functions. Microcontroller unit (Arduino) is used for the mentioning/controlling functions in many studies due to the easy programming and connection with the personal computer for interaction activities, i. e. programs loading, data collecting and analysis.A comparative study of various cleaning methods of solar panels has been done in this article with emphasis on innovative ideas.
Project ObjectivesEffective capturing of solar energy is of immense importance, as part of finding a solution for the ever-increasing demand for power that is coupled with the depletion of resources of fossil fuels.Solar energy is clean and abundantly available but it lacks in efficiency, and only 30 40% conversion of sun irradiation energy into electrical energy is possible.
Our main aim is to maximize energy production by increasing efficiency of solar plates and to enhance solar plates life.
Project Implementation MethodIn order to put the solar PV panel performance under study and evaluation, all the environmental parameters which are effect on this performance should be considered. The system includes different sensors work together with the other part of the system to offer online records. In the system, the levels of light intensity on the panel, dust density in the air, temperature and humidity all are monitored. In addition, the deliver power to the resistive load is also monitored as a result with respect to the above mentioned parameters. The effect of each parameter is evaluated individually during analysis the records of the instantaneously level of the delivered power.
Benefits of the ProjectPollution, traffic dust, leaves and even bird droppings contribute to preventing sunlight from reaching the solar cells in your solar panels. The more dirt – the lower amount of electricity they will produce. While many factors affect how much electricity your solar panels will produce – dirty solar panels can be one of the biggest, and easiest to fix. Experts agree that dirty solar panels don't produce as much power as clean panels. That loss may range as high as 25% in some areas according to the National Renewable Energy laboratory. Individual dealers have reported losses as high as 30% for some customers who failed to ever clean their panels.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableGained power from the photovoltaic solar panel is a main factor reflects the panel performance. This factor is affected by many parameters. Dust density, light intensity as well as ambient temperature have direct effect on the panel performance. All the environmental parameters which are effect on this performance should be considered.
