In pharmaceutical industry storage, many drugs, samples and vaccines are kept in very sensitive temperature ranges according to their environmental and chemical nature. To keep them within these temperature ranges is very important for their performance and efficiency. Temperature monitoring within refrigerator is very essential in maintaining safe environment otherwise bacteria and other virus can produce in the biologics onsite and they can also eliminate.
Manually temperature monitoring can result in missed checked, inaccurate record and it is time consuming. It becomes very difficult to maintain a complete record by manual checking so a device should be manufactured that can check precisely the internal temperature of the refrigerator continuously and keep its record throughout the period from when it is installed. It should be an IOT device and send alerts by SMS on mobile and via email. An alarm mounted on the device that turns on when temperature arise to a specific value. A threshold can be set for the alarm placement. This device can monitor temperature 24/7. So there is no need to hire a person whose work is to check and balance the internal temperature of refrigerator. Just mount the device on refrigerator and be free. It will automatically send you the updates. Its record will be on the website and also on the android application. The website and android application are showing the current temperature and also its complete record in form of graphs and excel sheets. It is a cost effective and accurate device. So we are designing a temperature monitoring and data collection system for pharmaceutical storage units.

Project Objectives

we want make a device which give the more accurate temperature readings make records of that readings which can accessible anywhere if you have internet because all data is stored in a iot cloud and give alerts if that temperature readings goes beyond a specfic ranges of values.   

Project Implementation Method

we will implement our product in the pharma storage units where the temperature sensitive druges and vaccines are placed. we have also planned to implement our product in the famous pharmacies of lahore because they have also tempereture sensitive vaccines, eyes drops and drug. these pharmacies used a digital meter for that purpose and check it on every one hour but our device is way more efficient then a digital meter.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

This is an IOT based project .The components used in this project are esp8266, DS18B20 temperature sensor, I2C and LCD. The data from the temperature sensor is sent to cloud through esp8266.The data from cloud is easily accessible. The data is recorded 24/7 on the cloud but for that device should be connected to the internet. If temperature varies from a particular range a message will be sent to the user whose phone is connected to the server and an alarm will also be generated in the shop or the medical facility.
