This geographical distance has been virtually eliminated by the gross digitalization of business and society. As a result of such business exposure, increased public-consumption led businesses to grow to the ultimate heights of their potential. Amazon and Alibaba are the evident peaks of such business exposure to a widespread population.
Pakistan is on its way to embrace the digital revolution. In this due process, the digitalization of Pakistan's economy and its business models would be of prime importance. Most of our small and medium businesses (E.g. Retail Shops, Wholesalers e.t.c) lack digital exposure and access to consumer attention beyond their confined vicinities. Only by filling this gap, and bringing businesses tiers closer to each other, will we be able to achieve our objectives of prosperity and business growth.
Our project idea aims to tackle this core challenge, reducing distances among Retailers and their Wholesalers. As we develop this idea, we aim to develop a business platform that will host business showcases of the wholesale traders available in a certain locality. Market shops, on the other hand, will be enabled to access a diverse choice of hosted wholesale agents on our platform. This will digitalize the preexisting, manual, and inefficient mechanisms prevalent between these two business tiers resulting in increased business quality and outreach.
1- Business Showcase
On Digital Retail Portal, we will enable distributors and wholesalers to create and manage 'Showcase IDs'. These IDs will serve as their business expo, containing the array of products and services they are dealing in. Our portal will allow businesses to manage their IDs; enabling them to modify portfolios, adjust prices, make announcements, deals, and packages.
Digital Retail Portal can be especially beneficial to those wholesalers/distributors who happen to have a lack of favorable location in the physical Market. It means that with hosting your wholesale business in a basement, one can get as much of a client's attention on the Portal as those who have a prime commercial location in Bazaar.
2- Business Promotion
By setting up appealing price tags and business deals, a wholesaler can easily manage to climb high ranks in the updated E-Bazaar of the Portal. Businesses that offer quality and incentives to their retail clients are much likely to get promoted and awarded high ranks on our platform.

At the core of our idea to develop Digital Retail Portal is the aim to achieve higher business quality and competition. Through this platform, wholesalers can expand their businesses and gain a wider client base. By granting retailers a variety of choices in products and dealers, it will maximize pressure on wholesale dealers to offer incentives and maintain relative quality, hence resulting in healthy economic competition.
4- Up-to-date E-Bazaar
Digital Retail Portal aims to develop an engaging and dynamic E-Bazaar aimed at presenting current market status. E-Bazaar will be comprised of a potentially expendable range of retail products with their most appealing prices in the market by far. Through this utility, shopkeepers and retail clients can be made vigilant and informed of the latest commodity values in the market in order to facilitate their decision making.
5- User Personalization
Retail Shopkeepers will also manage a product array in their 'Retail IDs'. Our Portal will personalize the market experience to a shopkeeper via E-Bazaar based upon the product list configured on his/her Retail ID. Such personalization is aimed at bringing potential business partners closer together and simplifying it for users to utilize our services.
6- Real-time Communication
Negotiations are at the core of any business and marketing activity. We will enable clients to communicate with each other through our platform in order to negotiate agreeable bargains and confirm their deals.
7- Distant Order and Delivery
Upon agreement, Retailers can shop and place orders online, purchasing multiple products from multiple wholesalers across the Platform. Delivery service can be hired from the corresponding wholesaler or performed individually. Independent Delivery Services (Like FoodPanda) will also be integrated into our Portal to deliver packages to the doorstep of the Retail Shops.
Project Implementation MethodIterative SDLC Model
SDLC Model - Iterative Method - Project Builds - Each Build through the waterfall. We will adopt the Iterative SDLC method for our software development process as it gives the developers an upper hand while revising and refining the end product repeatedly. As a consequence, the software produced in an Iterative manner is virtually always tentative until it meets the user criteria. The project will be divided into development builds and modules each considered and developed independently. Some of these modules include Account Management, E-Bazaar, Filters,
Social Media and Order&Delivery Module.
Methodology of Implementation
Our project implementation plan consists of the following stages:
1- Research And Documentation
Documenting user demands and business requirements are the cornerstone of this multifaceted project. Primary user requirements have already been investigated and well-thought-out. We'll make sure that we remain vigilant to the key business requirements at the ground, investigate key stakeholders, and researching prevalent case studies.
2- Model Design
In the design phase, a system blueprint will be generated. Prototypes of the User Interface (UI) will be created in the functionality development phase, we will draft out how the system will interact with a user and vice versa.
3- Product Development
This phase will largely include Android App development on Android Studio. The project design will be implemented in the form of multiple singular android modules. These iterative builds will later come up together in a completely workable Android Application.
4- Implementation And Promotion
As part of the development strategy, we aim to promote our Android Application to our business community. This marketing strategy includes uploading our Application on Play Store, providing people with basic training, and running an awareness campaign for the product.

Digital Retail Portal is a grand opportunity for basement-based wholesalers and Distributor agents. By registering a business portfolio upon our platform, these business startups can unveil to the wider client base and compensate for their unfavorable commercial location.

Wholesalers/Retailers are asked to create and maintain product arrays on our platform which contain their business items. Digital Retail Portal will do it for them in one click through its E-Bazaar tab. E-Bazaar is a tab that hosts all products available throughout the platform tagged with their most economical offers and prices. Users can explore E-bazaar and select appropriate deals for their shops.
5- Efficient Decision Making
Through E-Bazaar, market awareness will be provided to clients. It will encourage the capacity of Retailers to make efficient and profitable decision making for the business.
6- Real-time Communication
When it comes to binding Wholesalers/Retailers together, enabling our clients to communicate in real-time is a huge plus. It makes business activities more rapid and sophisticated. Through WhatsApp-based communication, clients will be able to negotiate and agree to various business deals.
7- Covid-Resilient Order & Delivery
It's not a matter anymore if you are unable to deliver your carriage on your own. After purchasing deals, clients will be enabled to book delivery services from the particular Wholesaler, or via an independent delivery service incorporated into our Portal. This makes our project especially reliable and relevant in the Post-Covid-19 business world.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableCore Features & Functionalities
Following are some major use-scenarios incorporated in our Android Application:
1- Account Management
In this case, our product will allow users to create IDs in two categories, as Wholesaler, and as a Retailer. Both of these categories will go through a preliminary authentication process to register their IDs, setup profile names and other credentials. Configuring a product list by Wholesaler/Retailer is an essential step in account management. These lists will later serve as business portfolios for both clients showcased on their IDs.
2- E-Bazaar
E-Bazaar is an inbuilt tab in Digital Retail Portal Application. E-Bazaar will cover the entire market status and present the latest and most economical prices of various commodities in the market. Wholesaler clients can manipulate E-Bazaar
prices by adjusting the product prices on their portfolios. E-Bazaar will keep track of the price adjustments at wholesale IDs and pick the most economical prices for the commodities. It will also help clients to navigate to the corresponding wholesale
ID which hosts the offers.
3- Search Filters
Various filters will be implemented to help users navigate to their desired products, brands, and clients. Users can search products by categories, clients, and location to choose a desirable option.
4- Order And Delivery
Users can create shopping lists from their product lists at My-Shop or at E-Bazaar. Apart from that, they can place orders by manually visiting a wholesaler's account. Delivery can be done individually, via a wholesaler, or through some independent agent on the platform.
5- Social Media
Digital Retail Portal will enable clients to communicate directly via WhatsApp. Product deals, price negotiations, order, and delivery details can also be discussed and confirmed through real-time communication.
