Project Area of Specialization Wearables and ImplantableProject SummaryInfrared temperature sensors work by focusing the infrared energy emitted
by an object onto one or more photodetectors. These photodetectors
convert the energy into electric signal, which is proportional to the infrared
energy emitted by the object. The main objective is to detect temperature
of personnel at the entry points of the halls, offices etc as protection measures
against COVID-19. Alarm system is added to detect the infected
person as its temperature is more than the normal temperature. We can
add automatic lock system on doors to make entry of only not infected persons.
We can take temperature of a huge gathering by using this device
and also detect who is violating the COVID-19 protocols.
The task is to integrate the infrared thermometer on walk-through metal
detector for detection of temperature. It includes the study of microprocessor
for integrating it with a temperature sensor for detection of temperature
and for displaying of temperature on a monitor in real-time.
In this project, IR thermal sensors, an LCD and an alarm will
be integrated with a micro-controller. The programming on it
will be done in Phthon. The microprocessor along with all other
components will be installed on a walk-through gate. This gate
will help in monitoring temperature of people passing through
it and display it on LCD and if temperature exceeds a certain
threshold, the alarm will be triggered.
During this Covid-19 pandemic, this project come in very handy as it will be available at every organization to check covid without making any individual coming near one another.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThe Expected deliverables of the project are as follows
• An alarm will be integrated with the digital monitor in order to notify
for exceeding temperature.
• The digital monitor displaying the value mounted on the detector will
show a value in green color for acceptable temperature and in red
color for exceeding temperature.
• Maximum number of body temperature sensors should be installed
that would convert analogue value of temperature and will show in
digital format for accurate results.
• Time Interval between body temperature scanning and results notification
in the form of alarm and monitor display should be (0.3 0.5
seconds).
