Designing of Dual Band GNSS Amplifier
Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryProjects related to this topic are discussed in this survey which shows that how a dual band or a multi-band GNSS amplifier or antenna is designed using various softwares and some different parameters like different frequencies and different procedures like simulation, fabrication and testing etc.In the bottom layer of a threelayer antenna device, a two-stage LNA with more than 27 dB gain is built. In addition, to create the circular polarization (CP) feature, a hybrid coupler is employed to mix signals from two approximately linked orthogonal feeds with a 90° phase difference. Three layers of high permittivity (r = 10) substrates are layered and combined to achieve a tiny size of 64 mm’64 mm’7.42 mm. The manufactured antenna has a reflection coefficient of less than -10 dB at the target frequency, an antenna gain of more than 26 dB, and a noise figure of less than 1.4 dB.
Project ObjectivesTo design a GNSS amplifier which will help to enhance the satellite signals in the areas where the signals are very weak. For example: GPS maps in mobile phone.
Project Implementation MethodIt can be implemented in 3 layers:
1- Designing of the prototype in Advance Design System.
2- Fabrication of the prototype.
3- Testing of the validation of results.
Benefits of the ProjectTo design a GNSS amplifier which will help to enhance the satellite signals in the areas where the signals are very weak. For example: GPS maps in mobile phone.
Technical Details of Final Deliverable• Schematic design of amplifiers on Advance Design System. • Co-simulation of amplifiers in ADS.
• PCBs (Printed Circuit Board) for the amplifiers fabricated on FR4 board using LPKF MK-60 machine in CAE ADS lab.
• Complete amplifier with patched SMT (Surface Mounted Technology) components using expertise available in KARF (Kamra Avionics and Radar Factory).
• Measuring Data of amplifiers using VNA (Vector Network Analyzer).
