Project Area of Specialization Mechanical EngineeringProject SummaryA hydraulic press is a machine whose main purpose is to lift or compress large items. The force required to do this is provided with the help of a moving fluid. This particular machine works based on Pascal’s law which states that if pressure is applied to a fluid inside a closed system, the pressure will be equally transmitted in all directions. The hydraulic press has made it easier for us to produce various useful machine parts and tools by using different press-related operations. However, after analyzing the number of accidents reported recently caused by using the machine, it was made clear that something had to be done to operate the machine safely. Thus along with fabricating a hydraulic press that could produce a particular machine part, we also added a safeguarding mechanism to ensure that the operator, in particular, could be prevented from getting injured while operating the press. The safeguarding mechanism mainly consists of two parts.
1) The use of IR sensors.
2) A safety shield surrounding the press. Therefore the objective of our project is to fabricate a hydraulic press with the most optimized design by considering the results of the stress analysis along with other factors and also include a safeguarding mechanism that would minimize the press-related accidents to a great extent.
Project Objectives- To carry out the stress analysis and ensure that an optimized design is chosen for fabricating the hydraulic press.
- To fabricate a functional hydraulic press that can produce at least one machine part at a time.
- To add a safety mechanism to minimize injuries.

3)studying and understanding how a hydraulic press is built and works.
4) shortlisting and merging all the related information and complete the report work.
5) Finalizing the design of the press and doing stress analysis
6)Finalizing the components of the safeguarding mechanism.
7) carrying out research online and in the local market to find the most suitable components for the press.
8)gathering the components and completing the fabrication process.
