Project Area of Specialization Cloud Infrastructure,Project SummaryThe purpose of this project is to basically develop a computer cluster for a particular application and then benchmarking the performance by running simulations for the particular application.The area of application is Computational Fluid Dynamics for which a suitable software is to be selected for benchmarking the developed cluster.
Project ObjectivesThe main objectives of my project are:
- Design and Development of a cluster.
- Selection, installation and configuration of software for parallel execution on the designed cluster.
- Benchmarking the performance of software for CFD simulations on the developed cluster.
Project methdology follows as:
- Basic high performance computer cluster understanding.
- Thorough study of OS, middleware and communication libraries.
- Thorough study, selection and implementation of the hardware to be utilized.
- Understanding of the complete architecture of cluster.
- Thorough study, selection and implementation of the software to be run and configured on the cluster for CFD simulations.
- Thorough study of the performance benchmarking of the software for CFD.
The project is basically development of a high performance computing cluster which will be significant in the field of simulations carried out for a particular application as for my partiular application by parallel computing, the load will be divided into several cores thereby reducing the overall simulation time with an increased processor power therefore the processing is done in lesser time,
Technical Details of Final DeliverableTechnical Objectives:
- A thorough analysis of the software for Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis in term of processing, networking, storage and memory requirement.
- Demonstration of a scalable architecture of the high performance computing structure based on an appropriate individual workstation.
- Demonstration of a whole system scalable software architecture consisting of an appropriate selection of OS and middleware.
