Project Summary

I have proposed to implement a Design and Implementation of an Intelligent Mobile device Detector.

The major scope of implementation of intelligent mobile device detector cans intellectualism the presence of activated mobile from a distance of 5 to 10 meters. Basically, Our aim to implement this system in an examination room, like university colleges, meeting rooms where the mobile device is not officially allowed.

The ubiquity of the cell phone has made communication easier and faster, integrating the world into a global village as people who are indifferent geographic location are connected in seconds, it’s great to be able to call anyone at any time. There is a great need to limit the use of cell phones at particular places like All fuel stations, Religious places, Court, Examination Rooms, Secure Areas, Army Base, etc at particular times. Hence, the use of intelligent mobile phone detector is guaranteed. This work concentrates on designing a system that will dictate the presence of GSM signals from an unauthorized user in restricted areas which will, in turn, trigger another device to restrict the user from service. The system will be able to jam the GSM frequency signal upon detection to prevent the transmitted signal from getting to the user’s cell phone.

Cell device availability has lead to a security problem such as:

  • Secret information leakage/ all information records in confidential meetings.
  • Malpractice in examination halls.

A main limitation of the system is that the software will not handle the situation if the electric power supply is turned off, in which case the functionality of the system will fail.

Project Objectives

Main Objectives/Outcome of the proposed systems include:

  • The objective includes building a mobile detector to locate a phone within one and a half radius and to jam GSM signal within 5 to 10 meters radius.
  • Through this application to detect incoming and outgoing calls, even that if the cell phone in the silent mode. The moment the bug detects a transmission signal from an activated mobile phone, it starts sounding a blare alarm and links. The alarm continues until the signal transmission concludes.
  • A target is developed an associated app that will be integrated with our proposed hardware in order to Complete our system.
  • Application connect to Hardware through Bluetooth,  Enable/Disable Buzzer and set the time in order to enable the detector and jammer.

Project Implementation Method

This system will block and disable cell phone restricted arrear signal will be detected by the system It detects the RF signals from cell phones, at the mine time buzzer is enabled and the signal is relayed to the jamming circuit trigger thus the desired frequency is blocked (GSM 900, GSM1800).

The system will be capable of detecting all the transmissions that will be performed through cell phones regardless of what mode mobile phone is on i.e. outgoing and incoming calls, videos, msg. and LED will bi blinked and beep alarm will be sounded as the modules detect RF transmission signal. The alarm will change its states to mute right away as transmission ceases.

The IF section will comprise the Triangular wave generator, Mixer circuit, the Amplifier Stage, the Noise generator, and the Clamper circuit.

The RF sections key device is VOC ( voltage-controlled oscillator).VOC will generate an RF signal. The system requires VOC for GSM 900 and GSM 1800. The CVCO55BE is the VCO for GSM 1800 and the output frequency is 1785-1900 MHz and the output power is up to 5 dBm. CVCO55CL is VCO for GSM 900. The output frequency is 925-970 MHz and the output power is up to 8 dBm.

Benefits of the Project

Cell device detector is a powerful tool, easy to deploy and cost-effective device that constantly scans for cell phone activity and can immediately alert security staff to the presence of a mobile cell phone.

  • Preamplifier: The operational amplifier is used for pre-amplification in differential mode.
  • Switching: The transistor is the triggering switch. Used for switch electronic signal.
  • Alarm system: A buzzer is used to provide various alerting audio signals as alerting the incoming calls.
