Project Area of Specialization Artificial IntelligenceProject SummaryThe main objective of the proposed project is to design and implement a real time human detection and tracking algorithm which can be employed in Autonomous Gun based Shooting system. Our proposed algorithm will have the basic competence and intelligence to detect and track humans only and to avoid the false positives such as animals or other moving things. An on-board solution will be developed and the proposed system will be implemented on the microcontroller with a capability to reach near to real time implementation. A hardware will be designed using motors and basic circuitry to follow the targeted human.
Project Objectives- Design & implementation of a robust and effective human-detection and tracking algorithm based on OpenCV.
- Comparison, study and selection of the required Camera and the microcontroller (Raspberry-Pi or Jetson board).
- Comparison, study and selection of the required electronic equipment including motors and batteries.
- Assembly of the mechanical structure along with the power board, microcontroller, motors & camera.
- Complete understanding and implementation of the communication protocol between microcontroller &Arduino.
- Design & implementation of a feedback control algorithm to effectively track the target with high accuracy.
- Optimization of the human-tracking algorithm to achieve real-time implementation.
- Complete integration of the hardware & software portions for development of the complete prototype.
FIrst of all algortihm fo rhuman tracking will be decided that will be able to track the human in real time. Then selection of motors is decided which will move the gun in elevation and azimuth plane the power supply for them is also set up. The gun will be controlled through PIC16f877a so programming pf PIC is also done and after that human tracking algorithm in the first stage is finalized and will tell the PIC where the human is and in turn will move the gun. In the end the gun has to shoot as well so trhough antenna modules, wireless communication will take place, in which operator will decide wether the gun has to shoot or not. He/she can just send the command and the gun will start/stop shooting.
